Had a great night

I went in on a Monday night anticipating to only have supper and a pint. Turns out it was trivia night and and I got drawn in for most of the evening. The food was really good, the service was fast and the beer and scotch selection was quite good. Turns out I won both trivia rounds and was... read more

Stopped in Saturday afternoon for a couple of beverages. Good ole Irish Pub lots of beers and a decent Scotch selection. food was adequate and reasonably priced. As a tourist, found it just fine to enjoy a break from the day.

We came here on a recommendation from our concierge at the hotel around the corner. We chose to sit at the bar and have a couple drinks after a long day of exploring Montreal. I ordered a mixed drink and my husband a beer. After we were served our server never returned. As we sat we counted over 12 people... More

Caught some World Cup games here. Service was very friendly and good. Had wings one visit (not on the menu but the server offered when I expressed disappointment that they weren't on the menu) and a burger another. I thought the burger was good. Wings were OK. I liked the place and it was full for both games.

Possibly one of the best salad's I've ever had (chicken, roasted almonds, cherry tomatoes, and mandarin oranges). My friend had the spinach chicken, and also loved it. Great atmosphere. We were there for the "trivia" night. It was hilarious. Great staff. Great food.

Food was good. All 6 of us had a different plate and all were satisfied. Ambiance was pleasant. Waitress must have been having a bad day. Was not to friendly. We ate and after not being offered another beer decided to take our business somewhere else. To bad because the bar was not to busy. Will not return //Far to... More

We'll if you're ever downtown Montreal be sure to stop by this place. My wife and I were looking for a pub close to our hotel ( the fairmont ) where we could have a cold beverage and away from Crescent st.. We found Le Vieux Dublin just around the corner and had a great time. The drinks were cold... More

I am well familiar with Pub Fare and Le Vieux Dublin needs to up its game if it wants to maintain any reputation of being an Irish pub. Our party of twelve had a fair sampling of the whole menu and not one of us finished their plates. Hamburgers were pathetic and very poorly presented, a Rib steak was thin... More

We came here because it was near our hotel. The area seemed a bit sketchy but we didn't feel unsafe. We ordered drinks and food and our waitress was so unfriendly and just not nice. We wondered if she didn't care about our table because we spoke English, everyone around spoke french and between 4 of us we might be... More

We popped in looking for some pub food and a good beer. We left incredibly disappointed. This place purports to be an Irish pub yet the beer selection was extremely limited. The food was awful. The crowd was having a great time but they appeared to be locals kicking back after work. There are lots of great places in Montreal.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
