Very Nice

This restaurant has an old world feel with a small interior, At first, they tried to seat us at the very worst table in the restaurant near the loud kitchen. We loved our dinner from start to finish--best octopus I have had anywhere--so very tender with beautiful sauce and accoutrement to finish it. Then I had melt in your mouth Waygu beef that was so very tender and rare inside with tatsoï, togarashi. We finished with the Cheese course, which needed no cheese. The waiter helped us with wines and... More

Perfect ambience for my wife and I. I was on a business trip and brought her along to experience the city a bit. Le Club Chasse et Peche offered the perfect ambience for a dark cold evening with it's cozy seating and charming servers. They even recommended a venue to catch Austra - a musician we both love - and... More

This one checks all the boxes: mouth-watering creations on the plate, attentive and professional wait staff, and truly impressive wine holdings. The restaurant space has a dark, cocoon-like ambiance in which it seems nothing could possibly go wrong. We chose the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings (all of which were interesting choices). The clear standout dish was the seared... More

For a wonderful food experience: flavors and execution; careful with the wine liste (I didn't pay attention and ended up with a 100$ bottle). The atmosphere is just... You are seated in leather armchaires and made to feel like the world has no more problems! Better then vacation.

I expected a lot more for my money. The ambience was very nice, the sound level was very comfortable, the service was good, and the menu was interesting. Unfortunately I came away from the experience feeling unsatisfied.

I ate there once, about 10 years ago. It was certainly back them one of the best dining experience I'd had and it still is. The decor is amazing. The staff is beyond words. And the food is fabulous in every way.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
