Cozy, wonderful service, creative food, nice presentations

Service is impeccable. We wanted to taste a lot of dishes so we asked each of them to be split in the kitchen...it was done, with a smile. Food is excellent, just creative enough, well presented. A very nice dinner experience!

We had high expectations based on TA reviews and our concierge's recommendation, but were disappointed both by the food and the quality of service. Atmosphere and table comfort both leave much to be desired. Not a highlight of our Montreal visit.

Enjoyed a very good meal here this week, and was not disappointed at all with the overall experience. Service was prompt and efficient but still casual and fun. Cocktails and wine by the glass were bang on, food courses were very good (flavours got better as we ate more and more, always a good sign), and the atmosphere was fun... More

First, this is a very good restaurant. I may be a bit jaded because I was visiting other fine-dining restaurants on this trip to Montreal. When our server arrived, I professed ignorance of the wine selection. She did not call a sommelier, but proceeded to make a recommendation on her own. She did not seem like she was 100% certain,... We recently had a dinner at Le Club Chasse et Peches to celebrate a family anniversary. We chose this restaurant due to its reputation. While teh service was outstanding I can not say the same about the main dish that I ordered which was cod. the fish portion was thin, overcooked and too salty. The accompanying mashed potatoes were mixed... More

When we first sat down and reviewed the limited menu, we were not sure if there was anything that we would enjoy. Only when the waiter explained each dish were we confident about our order. Each course was unexpectedly delicious! I was so impressed that I asked to meet the chef, Melanie. Our waiter led us into the busy kitchen,... More

This is a very cozy restaurant - and I mean that as a compliment. The waiter followed our lead & took his time so kudos to him. Everything was nicely plated. My bison ravioli app was very good. Ditto my pork main. Perfectly cooked as well. The surf & turf special: de-shelled lobster claw & beef filet was not as... More

I have been 5 times to the Club Chasse & Pêche. It is expensive but worse every penny. The food, quality of the place and service are amazing. Probably on my top 3 restaurants in Montréal.

This restaurant has an old world feel with a small interior, At first, they tried to seat us at the very worst table in the restaurant near the loud kitchen. This is a practice of many restaurants -- try to get rid of the worst table first. I do think it perhaps had something to do with our being American... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
