The wine (and wine recommendation from the server) was fantastic and perfect for what we were looking for. The food was incredible with great presentation. And our favourite part was the impeccable service...we never once were low enough to consider refilling our own wine glasses, our waters were always full, and there was always someone nearby making sure everything was... Food was a delight, service was impeccable. In visiting Montreal, I invited a local friend who was amazed at the quality of food and wine, and surprised not to have heard about the restaurant. Enjoyed the oysters to start the evening meal. My friend had the rack of lamb and I had the lobster and veal special for the night.... More

From start to finish this was a culinary experience beyond expectation. I have never seen well trained waiters like at this restaurant. They describe you every dish and make their personal recommendations. Everything was delicious!

You may go through life with certain preconceived notions and prejudices. One of mine is that I know what great octopus is supposed to taste like. I take great pride in my self-assured and metaphysical certitude about such culinary matters. Well, pride does come before the fall. I could give you some long, fancy-schmancy, pseudo-eloquent review . I'm not going... More

Very romantic hideaway in Vieux Montreal. Refined service, remarkably good food, with excellent vegetable offerings and garnishes despite the restaurant's protein oriented name. A wonderful venue for that intimate dinner with your sweetheart, designed to create a mood that will enhance your relationship or steer it off the shoals if it has started to go aground. Presentations were creative and... More

We had an early dinner starting at 6:30 as this was the only time I could get a reservation. The meal and service was impeccable. The octopus appetizer was tender and one of the best meals I have ever tasted. For a main meal I had the partridge. Again I was not disappointed. For dessert we had a tart that... More

They had a vegetarian menu (and it was cheaper) and I had the most wonderful polenta. The wine list was about twenty pages and even though I don't drink wine I had to read the list after seeing the size of the cellar! I booked the night before and they only had room for me at the bar in the... More

A mix of nouveau cuisine and a fresh and bold approach to meal arrangement-so be warned! But the food is mouthwateringly fantastic. My hot bricohe followed by gammon then salmon then pear tarte was divine. Make sure you book-you will not get a table otherwise. Lovely ambience and a fantastic wine list.

Read the reviews, and went with those dishes most often recommended. The oysters were excellent, although if given the choice (and you are) I would skip the one that is baked. They are prepared three ways, and the other two were superior. The Hamachi was even better than the oysters, and the piglet risotto was as good as advertised. We... More

This restaurant is outstanding. From the moment you enter, the decor is the old Montreal style dark and with stone. The menu is very short and you must like sofisticated dishes. The starters were easy to select, but had more trouble deciding on the entree. The foi grass is outstanding. The Cheff combines all sorts of vegetables and leaves that... More
