Very Good Vegan Restauarant

The front desk person at my hotel recommended Auxes Vivres. I have been there three times now - every time I visit Montreal. Twice I had the chili - very nice and a good sized bowl. Another time I had the tempeh burger. That last time I was there with meat eating work colleagues. Skeptical at... read more

Most of their dishes (bowls, salads, wraps and burgers) bring a fair share of satisfaction, but not all items on the menu are worth their price. I often find their seasoning to be a bit off: either too salty or too sour. Healthy options come at a price in Montreal, and this one is no exception

First of all, I was extremely excited to eat there because all my vegan friends had been raging about it. I really wanted to try it out for myself, to see if it was THAT amazing... They were right! Service: We were greeted and assigned to a table in a matter of seconds. We were then immediately served some water... More

I ordered a chana battura. But the batturas were tiny..less than the size of a regular bread and the chana quantity was very little. Maybe it was just my appetite, but for about $8 you can easily get a HUGE quantity at an Indian restaurant. It tasted good though.

I've been coming here for years, and it is by far my most favorite vegan restaurant in Montreal. The food is creative, delicious, and plentiful. The venue is fun and bohemian. You can order a la carte or order the table d'hote. My favorite sandwich is the veggie pate on chapati bread.....and I confess that I've had dreams about this... More

The food here is not only healthy and yummy but it's very well priced and you get huge portions. We order nacho's (small size which is actually a full size!) and a wrap for our main and corn bread on the side. It was a lot of food!!! We will def go back! To clarify, this is more of a... More

Vegan everything!! Just love it. Many options for breakfast and lunch. Just love the shop next door where you can purchase their specialty products that are served in the restaurant.

Had a big lunch during a recent trip! We have been eating healthy options for some time and this place fit our bill for sure. They have a nice juice bar, huge menu and full store of fresh and pre packaged items including a take out menu. I had a bowl and so did my husband we also tried a... More

I have been very disappointed with this restaurant as it is recommended by several acquaintances of mine. In fact, I was hoping for a restaurant proposing elaborate meals, something original, surprising and exquisite… but no, I was lost between the redundant menu “Sandwiches/soups/salads” and two hot real meals which seemed to have indian inspiration like always. Nothing did appeal me... More

Everyone seems to love this vegan restaurant. I think it is pricey and the food quality is overrated. Two hours later, you will be hungry again. For vegan restos, I prefer Lola Rosa on Parc Avenue, much better food and service.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
