Fantastic Vegan

I can never get enough of this restaurant and now that they have opened their take-out section on the side, you can go and enjoy a meal and take some of their famous meals home with you. A great experience each and every time I go.

Seldom do you find a good vegetarian restaurant that offers a wide variety of satisfying main course options. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent! I highly recommend it.

i had heard about this place for a while and thought the sandwiches they sell at my university looked very good but also expensive. One of my friends suggested we go to the sit down restaurant last week and i got the thai bowl. filled to the brim with yummy veggies, the bowl was at least 2 meal's worth of... More

Good restaurant. Its nice to have a place to go where u dont have to worry about there being animal products in the ingredients.if i have one complaint its that i wish they would use a little better ingredients.they need to offer gluten free or atleast whole wheat instead of white flower buns. They need to stop using canola oil,its... More

Aux Vivres offers great quality vegan food for very reasonable prices in a very comfortable and casual setting. I particularly enjoy their smoothies and Tom Yum soup. The restaurant is walking distance from the metro. Highly recommend.

I have been to Aux Vivres many, many times over the last seven or eight years. The food has always been very good, whenever someone says "I'm not vegan, but..." it's this kind of vegan food they love. It gets more and more expensive, of course, and the restaurant has increased in size and the service has become more impersonal.... More

I am not a vegan and was more than a little sceptical when it was suggested that we go eat there. I'm glad I did! The food was excellent and tasted great. I had a curry dish that was on special that day and was not disappointed. We also managed a dessert. They have a key lime pie on the... More

I was vegan once upon a time, and when I was it was very difficult in my home city to find a good vegan meal when going out. Aux Vivres is a vegans dream place to eat! There are so many items to choose from and so many substitutes for meat and dairy products. The food was delicious and a... More

I was there last Friday with my niece for dinner. Long lineup but luckily for us, we were seated after only a 10 minute wait as there were mostly larger groups. We shared a Mediterranean apetizer which consisted of a dollop of tzatziki, a dollop of tapenade, small portion of roasted red peppers, a few Kalamata olives and a few... More

A lovely evening meal shared with our college-attending vegan daughter and our 13 year old son. We had the coconut "bacon" BLT, the special of the night which was tasty warm flatbread and various salads and garbanzos and samosa; and one of the delicious tofu bowls; rounded out by a local beer, and a tasty and refreshing cocktail as well... Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
