Best Vagan Restaurant I have been

Great options for vegetarians and vegans- even meat eaters will enjoy! Slightly overpriced but the portions are good and the taste is on point. Go for the blt or Mekong on homemade chapati! Honestly a great place :)

Good vegan food, relaxed atmosphere. I don't go there very often because I think there are better vegan/vegetarian restaurants around; however, the food never disappoints. Their sauces are awesome, their drinks as well. Portions are huge and the prices aren't *that* bad, but their menu doesn't really change, so you do end up feeling like you've eaten the same stuff... I had the Kofka balls and I would drink the sauce by the jug if I could. It was delicious. We both ordered the bowls for the mains and they were amazing to the last grain of rice. I've never had vegetarian food close to this good at home.

Really fresh and delicious food. HUGE portions and great prices. Fast service, casual laid-back atmosphere.

While I do commend Aux Vivres for being more organized and improving their service and wait staff over the years (ten years ago it would take them up to an hour or longer to get the food out at times, waiters and waitresses would forget about you), the food has largely remained the same while their prices have shot up... This was our first and last meal in Montreal! We went along three times, because we loved it so much. The first time we went for a tempeh bowl with miso sauce and a sandwich, and made the mistake of also ordering a side of greens too - which was way too much food. It was all fantastic though! We... Expensive for an average vegetarian food! we tried the tofu sticks and it was a bad choice, my husband had a salad that tastes nothing but I had a nice Mexican mix plate.

I'm a carnivore traveling with a vegan niece and her mom. I read about Aux Vivres and we took the Métro to the Mont-Royal station. It was an easy 10 minute walk from there. We each had a delicious hibiscus cocktail, and shared an appetizer of moist, tasty corn bread. My niece enjoyed a tempeh burger served with very yummy... More

To start, I'm not a vegan so already trying this place was an adventure! But price point and quality of food was good. Have a veggie wrap and a salad (their signature dish of the night) and was ok. Very very affordable and worth a try if your a vegan:)

Loved the food and the price was very reasonable. Be prepared to wait in line since it is a very busy joint but worth it. Lots of choices - we tried a few and they were all very good. Ate very well.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
