Very fine vegetarian/vegan food

I'm a carnivore traveling with a vegan niece and her mom. I read about Aux Vivres and we took the Métro to the Mont-Royal station. It was an easy 10 minute walk from there. We each had a delicious hibiscus cocktail, and shared an appetizer of moist, tasty corn bread. My niece enjoyed a tempeh... read more

Expensive for an average vegetarian food! we tried the tofu sticks and it was a bad choice, my husband had a salad that tastes nothing but I had a nice Mexican mix plate.

To start, I'm not a vegan so already trying this place was an adventure! But price point and quality of food was good. Have a veggie wrap and a salad (their signature dish of the night) and was ok. Very very affordable and worth a try if your a vegan:)

Loved the food and the price was very reasonable. Be prepared to wait in line since it is a very busy joint but worth it. Lots of choices - we tried a few and they were all very good. Ate very well.

Really awesome vegan restaurant in the mile end. Went there on a busy Sunday so the service was a bit off- ordered the Dragon Bowl with tofu but received it with tempeh and my smoothie order was forgotten about. Both things were corrected though, and the food was absolutely amazing! Sauce was delicious, and the meal was a large portion... More

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Montreal. There are some nice salad bowls, sandwiches & wraps, and desserts to choose from. They also offer friend juices and coffee. I also truly love this restaurant because it's vegan and don't have to worry about any animal protein getting into my food. I would recommend this restaurant to non-vegetarians as... More

I was brought here the other day by some vegan friends. I had never been into any vegan restaurant and was scared about how the food would taste. I was delightly surprised! I also learn they make meals on the go, delivery, catering as well as cake and pies for birthday parties or events. I would have like to taste... More

I've lived in Montreal for many years, and finally made a visit to Aux Vivres, and I am amazed at how great this place is. Friendly service, lots of room to sit, easy street parking, big menu full of delicious sounding dishes, and really really big servings! I am going again and again until I've had everything they offer.

Discovered this while searching for vegan food in Montreal. In a cool, artsy area with tons of cheap parking. They have lots of space, so no waiting for a table on a Thursday night. Food is fabulous... Tasty without being "too much" ... Homemade tempeh was amazing. Highly recommend Greek appetizer. Huge portions. Save room for dessert!!!!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
