Lunch in the old port district

this place seemed crowded with locals, a very good sign. We were the only ones not speaking French. The food was fresh and quite good. We seemed to be very neglected for service compared to the other diners. Around us everyone got served quickly, and were brought these small dishes of ice cream... read more

I had read reviews for Chocolate in Montreal and new that we would need to stop during my sister's 40th weekend with friends. We arrived after taking the metro from Mont Royal where we had climbed a ridiculous number of stairs and were happy to stop for what was planning to be a quick nibble. Well, we lucked out and... Went on a business lunch on the Ste Catherine W location. Add a egg/ham/cheese/mushroom and a chocolate/banana withe some cider. Food was good. Service was very slow even if the place was not full. Not cheap 38$ tx+tips incl

There are a few locations of Juliette et Chocolat around Montreal. We enjoyed eating at the St Denis location as it's a good people watching spot. The buckwheat crepes are good. The dessert we got was fabulous. Server was very personable and fun. Overall, a great place.

Though the desert may be good, the meal-type food is very lacking. For $14 you will receive a sad leathery buckwheat 'crepe' with a single slice of thin grocery deli meat, not what I would call a meal. Be careful not to order the 'Ice Cider' as a beverage, for you will receive 1oz of cider in a thimble-sized martini... More

I love this place. Ate here three times while in Montreal. The sweets are wondeful and the savory crepes were outstanding. We had to wait longer one night we were there, but it is worth it. The cappuccino is large and delicious as well as the hazelnut cake.

Came here for a late breakfast on a Sunday. My wife and I both ordered crepes. She had the 55% chocolate with strawberries and bananas. It was amazing. I had a Smoked Salmon, goat cheese, capers and dill sauce on a buckwheat crepe, off of the summer menu and it was delicious. Both crepes were surprisingly filling. We had planned... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
