Best smoked meat sandwich I've found

Since I moved to Montreal a few years ago, I've been on the hunt for the best smoked meat sandwich I can find. In that hunt I've tried: The Main, Schwartz's, Reuben's, a few other lesser known places, and finally, Dunn's. Now, my hunt has ended. My employer moved offices to downtown, so now I work... read more

Man the food here was so good. We got the poutine with the Montreal smoked meat and the Quebecois pizza. Both were excellent. Staff was really friendly and the prices were great. Definitely worth a visit

Montreal is known for poutine, steak frites, and smoked meat. When smoked meat deli sandwiches are mentioned, Schwartz's usually comes up. I can't say, we didn't get there, as it would have taken longer and we understood lines to get in can be long, and we had a plane to catch. So we went to Dunn's, recommended by the doorman... More

We were advised to go to Dunn's for their montreal smoked meat sandwich! Glad we did, it was delicious! Had authentic poutine on the side - it was a huge portion. I opted for the small sandwich which is still 6 oz of meat! You will not be disappointed!

Nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food. Very reminiscent of the restaurants dating back to the 50's and 60's, which is very cool. No complaints here, asked for recommendations from the very helpful waitress and she delivered. Great!

There are many very good things to eat at Dunn's and the menu offers lots of possibilities. Because it is rare to be able to enjoy the same choices in vegetarian burgers I want to highlight that at Dunn's. I love the 1927 veggie version with their special sauce and all the trimmings (I leave off the bacon, which I... More

Traveled to this location from ottawa after being highly recommended by friends. The place has a family friendly atmosphere, had to wait for 15 min. To find us a table for 6, which wasnt too long taking in mind that it was a Saturday evening. Ordered the famous smoked meat sandwiches, they were yummy, it comes with coleslaw and fries,... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
