One of my fav Indian restaurants in Montreal

Maison Indian Curry is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Montreal. I've been to many and I'm Indian so when I saw its not westernized I mean it. At least theyve kept the food authentic. I do agree that it can be a bit spicy sometimes and if you're not in the food for it its a bit annoying... read more

Probably one Ok indian restaurant among all of the others in this area. You are seated next to stangers in an informal way. The service is fast, "first come first served" like the lady said on the phone when I called for a reservation. The place gets easily packed a night, so why bother with reservations... The overall experience is... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Montréal, I am a big fan of their thali's and rice pudding. The food portions are good and the prices are great, their service is overall friendly. It gets so busy and noise level sometimes is too high (I personally prefer to avoid peak hours) but in general is a good restaurant... More

Been here a few times and the quality and price of their food is much better than most of the restaurants in Ontario. The place is small but you get a few of outside from most seats in the restaurant as they have a 90 degree glass wall. The place appears to be clean each time we went including the... More

I went there 3 times. Never again. Don't order 8$ thalis, too cheap, a lot of sauce. I know Indian food, I know what to order for a great experience. But in this venue, food is great but it is served too spicy. Too much hot peppers and red hot chillies. I ordered to go and specified on the phone... More

The waitress was unable to understand french and even spoke english with a terrible accent even for what is in the menu. My girlfriend didn't knew what was in its thali until on the table because after three times, she stopped asking... After that, we had a cold shower of service. Portion were good and it was tasty, but near... More

I went for lunch and I took one of the Thali, the one with meat. When I ordored, I asked if there will be Dall in the thali. The answer was yes but there wasn't and it was almost only meat. I was disapointed because I like dall very much. The food was ok, but there's better indian restaurant in... More

I loved the food. watch out if you can't handle spicy. I thought i chose something not spicy and i ended up getting something extremely spicy. I should have asked the waitress. The waitress was very nice and very helpful, I asked for a salad to sooth my food she said they don't have but she offered me an alternative,... More

Everything was great from the soup entrees to the naan bread and chicken. Make sure you get a mango lassi to go with your dinner. Service is quick and food very fresh and tasty. Gets quite crowded on weekends.

Wow, in the middle of a street lined with Indian restaurants sits Maison Indian Curry House. The food is very flavourful and spicy while keeping it palatable for mainstream guests: as previously mentioned, even the milder dishes are pleasantly spicy and definitely not bland. Portions are however smaller than at other Indian restaurants. I was especially quite surprised at the... More

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighborhood Profile
Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighborhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's center, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping center offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
