Good ingredients, boring result

I went for the Szechuan shrimp and scallop lunch special. The good things first, there were generous amounts of shrimp and scallops on my plate and they were cooked just the right time. The vegetables were very well prepared, too. But then, the whole thing was drenched in some kind of sourly tomato... read more

As a long time, if not frequent customer, latest experience at Mr Ma's was disappointing. Oriental part of meal was still good, which at top prices for oriental food it should be, but vegetables served, yellow beans broccoli and baby carrots like those in little bags at grocery stores had nothing oriental about them. Service has deteriorated badly. After a 30... More

I had the general tao chicken for lunch and must say that for the price of $24.95, I at the very least expect real chicken and fresh vegetables. Definitely the worst general tao chicken I have ever tasted.

Schezuan food, suppose to be notch better then Chinese food. Refine food. This place is disgusting, it s equivalent of a 4.99$ restaurant in chinatown. But they charge 35$ for rotten plate of thai boeuf.

We went for all appetizers and enjoyed ourselves. The pork dumplings were great. Good atmosphere. The price is a little high but we'd visit again

Had a very tasty lunch in nice surroundings. Ease of service by friendly staff. Liked the location, close to all shops and hotels

I came here with a group of friends for supper to take advantage of the free parking after 5 PM. Food was very authentic and for the location and ambiance, it's for sure more pricey than your average Chinatown joint. The best bet is to order a few dishes and to share among the group since the portions are quite... More

Mr Ma is an upscale Chinese restaurant with very well prepared food. It is located in Place Ville Marie, part of the underground network in this cold, snowy and icy city. It is connected to hotels, shopping, indoor parking and transportation hubs. Wonderful to eat well with dry feet. Great service as well.

Great menu. Good variety. Excellent chinese/canadian food. A lot of seafood. Not too expensive. You can share plates. We've been going there for many years now, and have never been disappointed. Lots of room between tables also...

We went to Mr Ma yesterday for a business lunch. We were a party of 20 approx. the restaurant is well decorated and suitable for business lunches or dates during the evening. I ordered the general tao chicken which came with a sort of fried rice and vegetable. The dish was really good and tasty. Well above your usual fast... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
