shish taouk my go to late night meal

I haven't been in Montreal for over 10 years but loved Amir's shish taouk. Their chicken seemed to be tastier than other Lebanese places I tried about town. I'm not sure it's as good as I remember but the chicken was still tasty. The pita tasted a little stale. I was only in town for a few days... read more

Stopped by for a quick snack. Ordered the combo plate and drink. The beef/lamb was dry and cold, the chicken was just okay. The hummus was also okay, but they drizzle a mayo sauce over the entire plate, which was not very good. Paid over $15. The food carts in New York put this place to shame, both for quality... More

They have the typical Schwarmas and gyros. However, the plates are around three times as expensive as the pittas. The plates however have mounds of food that it will fill you up. The gyros are kink of interesting because after they fill up the pita, they grill it like a sandwich. One of the problems with the grilling is that... More

Inexpensive, conventional middle eastern food, clean and quiet. Nothing special, just okay. A chain, with chain food. You get your money's worth.

Quick, friendly "at the counter" service. You can purchase a meal or assemble it yourself with one dish at a time.

Second time there, food was ok, but rather rude young clerk would not take my credit card as payment because it did not have a chip. Had to go to ATM around corner.

Service wasn't great but the food made up for it. Good for veggies and meat eaters. Reasonably priced and good portions. Would certainly return.

During my recent trip to Montreal, QC, I ate at this Restaurant. It is a mix of good food at affordable price and in a huge quantity. I believe it is suitable for backpackers or anybody traveling on a budget. It is essentially salad and grilled meat (Chicken, beef, quail, vegetarian, Shawarma) served with Pita bread and big middle-eastern salad... More

The food here is not exactly fine dining, but there's lots of it and it tastes great! It's clean and the plates are piled high.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
