A surprising Treat!

My husband and I were looking for a restaurant that was not too touristy. We decided to try this place on the spur of the moment. The food was beautifully presented. The new management and team has taken this restaurant to a whole new level of culinary experience. New style cuisine with refined look. The wine list is extensive and well thought out. Quite expensive buy the backyard terrace might just be worth it.

We went there on New Year's eve, and the tasting menu was simply divine - it had all we liked: beef, sea food, foie gras... The only thing is that they did not offer matching wine option.

Went there for lunch and was not disappointed. The soup was to some of the best soup I had ever had. I can't tell you what was in but that's ok. The salmon was perfectly cooked with the perfect sauce. It came over mushrooms which I'm usually not a fan of but didn't leave any on the plate. The service... More

We were as a group, in the room separate from the restaurant, looking on the street. The food was really good, service was excellent. The only thing ... being close to the kitchen ... it smelled like cooking oil and this is not very much fun to get out and smell like cooking oil.

I had beef carpaccio (19$) and scallops (34$) for dinner last night. Each plate was well decorated and tasted great. But with only 4 scallops on a thin base of puree and some sort of condiment on top, I was left still hungry after my meal. Although it really was delicious, I think I paid too much for the quantity... More

We had a group of 6 guys and we all opted for the 8 course fixed menu. The food was amazing, just as delicious as it was appealing to the eye. The best meal we had in Montreal during our stay. The back patio area was the perfect backdrop for our dinner. Service was also very good. We had grown... More

I like this restaurant in the Old Port because it's about the only nice restaurant that's open for lunch in the area. The food is usually good but I feel that sometimes they try to be too inventive and it gets weird. I had a braised lamb shank for lunch one time that was the best I'd ever had though.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
