Always excellent

This is not the first time we ate here. We came mainly for the Jazz. The food is ok! But the Jazz is always good here. You do have to pay a cover price of 16 dollars each to see the show even though we were have dinner. Will be back again and again. Great Jazz!

We saw a wonderful Jazz Quartet on a Sunday evening. The place was packed and loud but lots of fun. Tables are tight but not uncomfortable. The reviews on the food have been mixed about this place but we both had wonderful food. I had shrimp and my husband had a mixed seafood dish and we were both pleased.

If you like Jazz this is a must. Went in for dinner and there was a great trio playing. Nice and mellow so dinner was relaxing and tasty of course. Staff was polite and friendly. I would surely frequent this place if I lived here.

We went for a late dinner and enjoyed fantastic jazz. Piano player, bass player and outstanding vocalist. I had the Upstairs burger and frites and my wife had the steak frites. Both were well prepared and delicious. Ended the meal with a single malt scotch from their great selection.

Our second time coming in 2 years. The live music was great. The drinks were very good. The food was ok, kind of bland. We will return on our next road trip to Montreal.

The resturant has great ambiance and on the night we went they were featuring a talented pianist. The fries were excellent (one of the best we've had to date), however the other items on the menu were just average. The downside is that there is a cover charge. On the night we went, we had to pay $15 each for... More

We were nicely greeted and it was made really clear that we would need to pay a fee for the live performance, the service was ok in general BUT the food was not so good especially considering the price, (soggy fries, the burger meat was way too dry and had chunks of fat in it that I couldn't eat) Do... We spend two night in a row at this bar on our long weekend rip to Montreal. The atmosphere was friendly, sangria was amazing and the live jazz even better. Perfect and chilled way to spend a night at the city.

We arrived here for our first meal in Montreal. We wanted a nice lounge-like place with great music and we found it. The music was fantastic on the night. The food was good, not great. We were there early so we had a few drinks and the Sangria was definitely more ice than liquid. Still, a great place to hang... More

We decided at the last minute to catch the first set on a Saturday night. We did not have a reservation but we walked in at just the right moment and were seated. The music was spectacular. I highly recommend this spot. The food was great. Next time we visit I now know to definitely make a reservation.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
