Nice place

Our second time coming in 2 years. The live music was great. The drinks were very good. The food was ok, kind of bland. We will return on our next road trip to Montreal.

The resturant has great ambiance and on the night we went they were featuring a talented pianist. The fries were excellent (one of the best we've had to date), however the other items on the menu were just average. The downside is that there is a cover charge. On the night we went, we had to pay $15 each for... More

We were nicely greeted and it was made really clear that we would need to pay a fee for the live performance, the service was ok in general BUT the food was not so good especially considering the price, (soggy fries, the burger meat was way too dry and had chunks of fat in it that I couldn't eat) Do... We spend two night in a row at this bar on our long weekend rip to Montreal. The atmosphere was friendly, sangria was amazing and the live jazz even better. Perfect and chilled way to spend a night at the city.

We arrived here for our first meal in Montreal. We wanted a nice lounge-like place with great music and we found it. The music was fantastic on the night. The food was good, not great. We were there early so we had a few drinks and the Sangria was definitely more ice than liquid. Still, a great place to hang... More

We decided at the last minute to catch the first set on a Saturday night. We did not have a reservation but we walked in at just the right moment and were seated. The music was spectacular. I highly recommend this spot. The food was great. Next time we visit I now know to definitely make a reservation.

I go to Upstairs jazz club almost every time I visit Montreal. I gp tp their website and check out who will be playing. Often I've never heard of the band or musicians but there will typically be a link to a video and I can get a sense of whether or not its my style. The management brings in... More

We stopped in based on a recommendation and being in the area and were excited for some Live Jazz music and a late(10pm) dinner and drinks. We arrived not much before 10pm, and snagged one of the last tables, a banquet in the back, far from the stage but a silver lining in that it was a bit less loud,... More

Cozy, intimate club. Very nice people serving. Food was much better than expected (I read too many trip advisor reviews beforehand and wasn't expecting much from the food.) Food really was excellent!

Looking for a casual, unpretentious blues/jazz bar for drinks or dinner while in Montreal? Look no further and delve into this comfy street level bar, sit back, relax and enjoy the consistently great entertainment that is offered nightly! We returned 3 times and will make it a ritual on future visits to montreal!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
