because Schwartz's is not in NYC. Smoked rather than boiled, the meat is tender, delicious and not salty. Cash only, and worth the line.

By far the best smoked meat restaurant in the 514 area! However, since this place is always packed, you better be ready to wait! Guys are friendly and it's very delicious! Price is expensive though

Schwartz's will give you what you came for- a pile of smoked meat on soft white dressed with yellow mustard- and not much else. Simple, fast, and pretty authentic. (Although as far as authenticity goes, I visited at lunch time and all of the patrons were tourists, no exceptions.) go early to avoid the line and splurge on the t-shirt.

We ate here on New Year's Day and it was the perfect food for a little New Years hang over The queue was out the door with plenty of people waiting for a table It's very old school, no frills but wow that meat tastes great! If you are in Montreal, you have to try it!

I would say food wise, this is the must have in Montreal. Just get the medium fat with mustard, that's all you need. Five of us arrived at Schwartz's at 3 pm for a late lunch on a Wednesday and still had to wait for half an hour. It is easier to get a table for 2 people. Their tables... More

I've been here twice in my two visits to Montreal. The first time I asked for lean and it was a mistake since it wasn't bad but wasn't memorable. When I went the second time I asked what the server recommended and he told me so that's what I got and I was very impressed. It was so juicy and... More

Stepping into the shop my first reaction was...This is not what I expected. I was expecting to pick up some smoked meat and take it home on my newly purchased bagels. But no...we were seated at a small table walking past a full restaurant and promptly had our orders taken...that part was easy when we told the server it was... More

Schwartz's is exactly what I had heard and expected them to be smoked meat experts! I got the smoked meat sandwich and the meat was spectacular; juicy, tender and tasty! The sandwich was not huge in terms of the size of the slices of bread, but man was it loaded with the delightful smoked meat! The line-up was quite long... More

There was a long line of people to eat in, so we decided to opt for take out. We got inside right away and didn't need to wait for more than 5 minutes. That was nice. The beef sandwiches were excellent! The beef was so juicy, flaky and flavorful. The restaurant is kind of out of the downtown area, but... More
