Wow I just had the best smoked meat sandwich ever it may even best Carnegie deli and Katz. I like the smaller portion size compared to Katz and Carnegie deli which are caveman size. The meat melts in your mouth like butter . The only negative is the wait which was 30 min and the small tables, but that leads... More

How can a simple 'smoked meat' sandwich be so good? I don't know either, but from the first bite of our 'medium' fatty sandwich, I was already feeling remiss that it would be ending far too soon. such great flavor, complimented by the simple yellow mustard. definitely try the coleslaw, which was also simple, but great.

Those who have not had Montreal-style smoked meat need to experience it at least once in a lifetime - for it is one of the most delicious "fast-food" meals ever concocted. This was our first time dining at Schwartz's, a legendary smoked meat restaurant in Montreal (since 1920's). Our first impulse was to leave when we went inside, for it... More

Every time I go to Montreal, I need to make a stop here. I've been here twice in the last year and it never ceases to amaze me. Their smoked meat is something special. Any time of the day, it tastes the same. Although the lineups are insane, we still managed to get a spot this time around (after a... More

Awesome and iconic - we sat at the counter which was very cool. Amazing Smoked meat sandwich, rivals Katz's in NYC for sure. Very simple and delicious. Long line but worth the wait. Definitely a must. Very old school vibe. Got halava ice cream across the street after - amazing too.

I've been there several times over the period of 6 years. Every time their meat and pickles delicious as ever. But casual ambiance starts to look more dirty than casual for the last couple of years. I love Schwartz's like everyone else in Montreal if only the place looks just a little bit cleaner -just a little- it will be... More

This is a Montreal must and it really deserves its reputation. The smoked meat sandwiches with mustard are deliciuous: obviously meat is first class, mustard is homemade and above all I would highlight the high artisan baked bread. Unfortunately, these terrific sanwiches are no secret and besides the place is really small, so be ready to line for some time... More

Must go smoked meat restaurant on the Main of Montreal. Look at the pictures on the walls and order a cherry Coke. Don't be afraid of a line-up, it goes fast enough and WILL be worth it!

If you are looking for good smoked meat in Montreal, Schwartz's is the place to go. The meat with an order of fries is very tasty. It is a great place to visit, but be prepared to be sitting immediately next to someone in very tight quarters. I suppose that is one of the things that makes this place special.
