If you find yourself in Montreal, this Italian gem is a must try! The food is amazing and very authentic. The staff is knowledgeable and the restaurants has this very quaint, homey feel to it, while still lavished with white table cloths and classy ambiance.

Food was cooked to perfection. Helpful and attentive staff. They were quite helpful and accommodating to the children. They brought out some finger food and biscotti for the children before and after the main meal. A nice touch for an upscale restaurant.

Recently visited Bis on the recommendation of a concierge. We visit Montreal fairly often, staying in the downtown district. Fine dining on a Sunday evening can be hard to find. The restaurant was a short walk and we were warmly greeted on arrival. Beautiful table given that we were a party of two. Amuse bouche was presented with the menu;... More

Had dinner, were greated like we were family. The food is amazing, I don't think you can go wrong anywhere on their menu. They have a very nice wine list and have a good variety of scotches and whiskeys. Price is pretty high but this is a quality establishment.

We attended the restaurant which is just up the street from the bell Centre where the hockey team plays. I have eaten here a few times in the past 3 years. The service has been excellent every time I have been there. I had the chillean sea bass this time and it was excellent. The wine selection is very good.... More

I have dined here as a couple or with a group. the atmosphere is excellent and service personal and welcoming. The food is authentic and beautifully cooked. The extra touches are very welcome. The meat ball amuse bouche, whole walnuts and nut crackers at the end of the meal are fantastic as well as the biscotti. I live in Montreal... More

Our party of four ladies out for a night on the town in Montreal, searching desperately for a place that would take a late (10 pm) reservation and also offer gluten free options. Ristorante Bis not only gladly welcomed us with open arms, but provided exceptional hospitality. We were given complimentary coat check as well as appetizers. The specials were... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
