Best Deli in Montreal.....just like New York!

Went on a recommendation by hotel desk clerk. Excellent Reuben sandwich and Greek salad. So big I split it with my husband. Excellent service, and went with the recommendation of our server. The desserts were beautiful, so we brought home a piece of cheesecake for a late night snack.

After eating at Schwartz's, there is no comparison. I would not come back here for deli. Reuben's does have an extensive menu with other sandwiches, burgers and salads. It reminds me of a chain restaurant anywhere in the U.S. Service was good, it's very clean and everyone friendly, but there's really nothing special about it.

We have enjoyed Dunns Montreal smoked but this restaurant is superior. Great service, excellent quality. The beef is totally lean and moist. My wife loves Reuben sandwiches so had to try this one and says it was the best she ever tasted

Poor service and the food was ok. We got a Reuben and a Croc monsieur ( ham and cheese on a toasted baguette). The meat used for the reuben was very fatty and the sandwich itself was small. The bread for the croc monsieur was shaped like a baguette but it tasted like a old toasted hot dog bun. Overall... More

We wanted to experience the "flavour" of Montreal on our recent trip. Reuben's really fulfilled the experience. Smoked meat, steaks and desserts were absolutely delicious, the service and ambience were great, and the price was reasonable. Well done!

We went here for lunch while on our honeymoon in Canada and really enjoyed it. They have a large menu and make recommendations on what to eat which I like. The waiters were really friendly, good service, meals arrived quickly and OMG the Carrot Cake Cheesecake (Which the waiter recommended) was out of this world. We would go back to... More

We tried Reubens for lunch the day after visiting Schwartz and found the smoked meet sandwiches a step up in taste and quality. Also, the cakes are fabulous. Service was excellent and the restaurant's atmosphere is modern and relaxing.

Stopped in for a Montréal smoked meat sandwich. The portions were huge! This is not a first date restaurant as the sandwich was large and a bit messy to eat with your hands. I was too full to try one of their desserts which looked amazing. Great service for a busy Friday night.

Tried the other Reuben's on St. Catherine's, just because I thought I could not go wrong and I was hungry. Tried the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and Poutine on this run... and it was amazing. The service on the other hand, well... the waitress stood across the walkway from where I was and watched as I ate (a little odd), however... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
