Loved it - we visited 3 times!

We were in Montreal to see a hockey game. Our flight was delayed leaving Washington, DC so by the time we landed and checked in to our hotel it was nearly 2:30pm and we were starving. Wandered a couple blocks from our hotel and spotted Reuben's ... and decided to give it a try. AWESOME sandwiches... read more

Low key, comfortable clean, great food, awesome waitress who replaced our kids sandwich when she noticed he didn't like mustard( we never would have asked) really generous portions. Delicious! Not to be missed.

Went here for supper and the food was good. Prices were a little high for the type of restaurant. We barely sat down when our waitress was there to take our order. I wasn't quite finished eating but the other person was. Waitress asked if I was also done. I know they are a busy place but you don't feel... More

If you like Smoked Meat, you must try the RD Skillet. It was awesome. The kids and wife also enjoyed it. Big portions. I would go the 6 hours drive to eat there again.

We enjoyed our first Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich here. One of the staff came to apologize that there was a mistake - instead of fries the cooks made us poutine - would that be ok?! Obviously we said yes :) It was amazing! All of the food was excellent. The speed of service was very good and the service overall... More

My husband and I went to lunch to Reuben's after a few hrs of sightseeing around Montreal. This place had been recommended by friends, but being that it was a Sunday, I expected it to be either closed or packed with people. Well, it was hopping with activity but we were greeted and welcomed by a very friendly girl at... More

Being foodies, my boyfriend and I travelled to Montreal to splurge on all the delicious things the beautiful city has to offer. While going around (pretty much) from restaurant to restaurant, we each shared things from each restaurant to get the most out of it. We stopped at Reuben's for some MUST HAVE smoked meat sandwiches. We opened the foor... More

We decided to go here to get our Montreal Smoked Meat experience and I'm so glad we did. Even during the busy lunch hour of noon we had a super short wait, and had a comfortable table where we enjoyed giant delicious sandwiches followed by the best piece of carrot cake I've ever had. My sandwich and cake were giant... More

Reubens is the place to get your smoked meat in downtown Montreal. Fast service, fair prices and you can buy a beer. Great meat, good coleslaw, frozen shoestring fries ( not very good)

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
