I ate here with my wife, and we both had the seven course tasting menu for dinner with foie gras. Quick note about the tasting menu -- apparently, it changes day to day upon the chef's discretion, so you don't know what you'll be having that evening. The foie gras replaces the third course on the menu. First, the overwhelming... more

Went to Toque for my girlfriend's birthday, based on a lot of positive reviews from friends and online. We went with the 7 course tasting menu (with foie gras) and the "Discovery" wine pairing as well. The verdict? Pretty much a flawless food experience from beginning to end. The service is attentive, yet not overbearing. The 'meal' was truly a... more

One of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have ever had. It wasn't fusion, french nor Quebecois but our waiter called it market. Only fresh foods from local merchants during the season. Pricey but certainly worth it. The only complaint we had was that for the kind of money the restaurant is charging they should have a more strict dress... more

We first went to Toque years ago when it was still in the old location. We had the chef's menu (I had the one with Foie Gras and my husband had one without), which we did not know what to expect. Every dish was a pleasant surprise: the food was impeccable and the presentation was extremely impressive! It was by... more

After discovering this restaurant search on TripAdvisor, Frommers, Fodders and friends that lived in Montreal, the hype didn't let us down! #1 on TripAdvisor, and on OpenTable.com For a restaurant with this good quality, the setting from the outdoors is a bit out of place... first floor of an office building with a bright sign that makes you think you're... more

This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience of my entire life. My husband and I took a trip up to Montreal to celebrate our 1 year Wedding anniversary. The servers were rude and pretentious, the food was mediocre, at best, and the experience overall was overrated, not to mention overpriced. After hearing all the "buzz" about their incredible... more

Toque was one of the best restaurants I have ever visited. Incredible food, very on-the-ball staff and a lovely setting. The sampling menu is out of this world, and unlike similar tasting menus that I've tried, this one leaves you full but not bursting. Dishes are fresh and light, all natural and local produce. The accompanying wine to match the... more

Our meals were delicious. Great atmosphere although the decor is a little dated. Dessert was a highlight. more

Compared to the former Charlie Trotters in Chicago, restaurants in LA and New York, it's just pretty good. Expensive and a little precious, but just pretty good. For the price you pay, one would expect instant service etc., and it just doesn't happen. Other restaurants were more satisfying, if full of saturated fats (see my review for Pied au Cochon).... more

had the tasting menu with wine pairing .. it took over 4 hours!! this made it hard to maintain an appetite and enthusiasm to the end of the meal. the food i have to say is a bit disappointing as i came with high expectations. the foie gras is good but not great. out of the 7 courses, i really... more
