Dinner: November 27th 2009, 17:30 Some items of the 7 course tasting menu, I've picked: -Foie gras poêlé, daikon poché au foin d’odeur, eau de pomme et gelées de miel et jurançon Very elegant chunk of beautifully-textured pan-seared foie. Evenly cooked, deliciously tasty with an impeccable smooth inside consistency. It kept all it's fully inner flavors. Bathed in a light... more

I find myself comparing all other restaurants to the dining experience we had at Toque. The service was like watching a choregographed ballet, amazingly attentive and spot-on. Very comfortable interior + well-designed. Fabulous wine-pairings. Suggest the tasting menu, also great for vegetarians. Pricey evening, but if you are interested in a true culinary experience with some unusual tastes, go to... more

We ended up at Restaurant Toqué after recommendations from the Wallpaper city guide. We all tried the 7 course tasting menu with the discovery wine package (five glasses in total) to go along with it. The tasting meny was quite interresting as the courses differ from day to day according to the chefs discretion with no description in the menu.... more

My wife and I were in Montreal for a conference, and this restaurant was about two blocks from our hotel, so of course we had to eat there. We made reservations (via OpenTable.com) for a late dinner on the first night of our visit. The decor is kind of dark and sterile, but the food more than makes up for... more

We were really looking forward to our second stay at Toqué! after years of not being in town. The new location downtown looked good for us as we could walk there from the Square Phillips hotel. The place looked much bigger than their St Denis location but the m.d. ensured us that they would not have more seats. Everything is... more

We had a seven-course tasting meal that was to die for. Each course was amazing and original and imaginative. The Foie Gras was fabulous. The service was attentive and excellent. This is a unique place and you must go. But just be warned: we were there for over 3 hours so plan on a leisurely meal if you're going to... more

Toque! may be the best restaurant in Montreal but it suffers from the American chef's disease of over elaboration. One illustration: my dessert was blackcurrant based with a delicate sharp sorbet, a rich coulis and well made meringue. Perfect on its own and not entirely ruined by adding rosemary flavoured cream. Yes, really, rosemary flavoured with sprigs of rosemary. Other... more

I've never reviewed a resturaunt before but I felt compelled to try and save some other poor soul from the experience! The venue is modern and souless. Kinda like a high end Holiday Inn Express. I don't know who is writing the reviews I read in the advisor, but suspect they aren't legitiamte. My veal was tough and bland. My... more

After all the rave reviews, my husband and I went to Toque for dinner tonight. We chose the 7 course tasting menu and discovery wines. It started out quite nicely with some lovely dishes and all 5 wines were wonderful. But, then.....a very odd pork dish which we both disliked, followed by a very rare wood pigeon (I just could... more

20 years ago, I had the privilege to taste Normand Laprise's food at Citrus, his first venture in a non descript location on St Laurent boulevard. 20 years latter, the food, the decor and the service are still sublime . The menu seems, on paper, very simple but the reality is greatness - Food: Mise en bouche: a small emulsion... more
