Another Vieux Montreal Winner

Start to enjoy the ambience from the street as you look through the windows at many happy diners. This is a classic large room with fairly close set tables. Wait service was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable. My mesclun starter was a large salad with lightly dressed leaves much enjoyed. I... read more

It's a nice breakfast, only about 5-6 choices, but all are done well. I had the scrabbled eggs and toast. My wife had the eggs Benedict. I was surprised they didn't have fresh squeezed orange juice. The fingerling potatoes were good, the jams are made in house. A nice bistro breakfast. About $50 for the two of us.

We had a great brunch. I had Nutella crepes -- wonderful. Eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly to order. Breakfast potatoes were grilled just right.

We ate here based on TA and our hotels recommendation. No reservation, we sat in the bar area. Service was excellent. A very decent wine list. I had steak, my husband had salmon and we both ordered salads. Everything was delicious. Loved that you could substitute sides with no issues. Service was very prompt and attentive, probably the only restaurant... More

Went to Restaurant Holder with a group for a celebration and we had delicious food and excellent service. The menu is interesting and they have a great wine list. All 10 of us enjoyed our various dishes and we were very pleased that we were able to get a reservation here. It was a hot Thursday evening in July and... More

Amazing service. Beautiful interview, although a bit crowded, well seasoned food. You must order the salmon tartare and beef cheeks bourginone.

A beautiful resturant with all different types of diners. Some dressed up and others casually dressed. A great atmosphere with delicious food and drinks. Friendly and helpful servers. We had an amazing dinner. We ordered a delicious tartar, lobster ravioli (very decadent) , and topped off with a delicious peach dessert. Reasonably priced for the food your getting. We will... Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
