Almost Gluten Free Friendly

Wonderful to be offered gluten free bread with dinner. Amuse bouche was served on a gf square. The food was not especially exciting but well prepared. For very little more one could have eaten at Buloud, across the street & been wowed...

We went to Renoir for the brunch, and were blown away. The selection and quality were outstanding. Excellent eggs, and a terrific selection of breakfast hors d'oeuvres including salmon pate, thin medium rare beef, and a wonderful crispy asparagus salad with duck. The pastry selection is to die for ( which you may if you can't control yourself), with eclairs,... More

We organised our wedding lunch at Renoir, for about a dozen guests. We found the whole experience to be bordering on perfection, from the planning phase through to the follow-up, and would definitely recommend this venue for any kind of special event. Planning: - Clear, friendly communication with everyone we dealt with: these people know their business - Great menu... More

The food and atmosphere was awesome. Disappointed because of the mean service. I would rather prefer waitress and waiters will not interfere with our tables.

I had difficulty selecting a restaurant for after the University graduation of my daughter. Many restaurants in Montreal are closed on Mondays or only open at dinner time. Trying to find something that would appeal to my daughter who is a bit of a foodie and the two grandmothers who are a bit traditional. We wanted something a little 'special'... More

Expensive but great, no surprises. French pressed coffee is a nice touch. Had the eggs Benedict and the brioche French toast.

I was there about 2 years ago. Ordered something with a mussel on top-and mussel was cracked. That is a no no. I mentioned it to the waiter and he had no response. The appetizer I ordered was a squash risotto. Oh, boy it needed salt,it was tasteless. When we complained to the maitre d' he comped the main but... More

Our group of 6 adults and 2 kids went there on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Service was excellent and worthy of a Sofitel restaurant. We got pampered with white linen service, and the kids got to eat pretty much anything they wanted, even if it wasn't on the menu. Decor was modern and beautiful. Would surely have given this... On 10 reservations, they will get 9 wrong. You can leave your full name and that of your guest i bet they will sit you at two different tables. The food is not bad but no where near the quality it needs to be for the prices they charge. The decor is old, boring and in need of love. So... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
