I had lunch a few times at Renoir and was always impressed with the quality of the food and service. We recently decided to try it for dinner (evening) for a special event. I was as impressed if not more with the quality and freshness of the food, wine selection (fair and well selected), the price quality ratio and the... More

I love Sofitesl Renoir, me and my friends come here every Sunday for brunch. Some may think it is on the expensive side but I can assure you it is worth every dime. The brunch is open buffet. The staff is amazing, they are quick and serve with a smile. On the other hand Chefs Felix and Perret are the... More

We read the reviews and looked forward to a lovely meal as we had heard so many good things about the food in Montreal. After being seated in a rather isolated area of a rather empty dining room, we ordered our meals. The food was only okay. Our waiter was friendly (I would hope so). And the price was quite... More

I was once a big fan of Renoir at SOFITEL .... I even left them beginning of Jan 2015 a previous Trip advisor 5/5 review. I do have to admit that my 3 last experience's since then have bin under average in terms of service. Im usually a decent gentlemen that always leave MINIMUM 20% + tip even when service... More

I love to eat here when I stay at the Sofitel, it's fantastic and a lovely hotel restaurant/bar. The service is always impeccable, and the staff are always so helpful and attentive, nothing is too much, even when busy. Unfortunately we missed our connecting flight into Montreal so missed our stay at the Sofitel, however we came buy to grab... More

The staff was great and the breakfast perfect. Also a great place for an after work drink. The only downside of the restaurant was the crowds and speed of service in the bar area.

This was a business group dinner with a set menu although there was a choice of main. The evening was labelled as a Picasso occasion with each course representing one of the painter's colour periods. The blue period was represented by a seafood soup coloured blue which was tasty but left a strange feeling due to its intense blue color.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
