High quality western cuisine

Excellent and unique western cuisine. Atmosphere is great and service is top of the line. I've dined here twice a few months apart and amazingly the waiter still remembered me, so props to that guy.

Have stayed and eaten in the Sofitel for a while now, and generally find the bar and restaurant for dinner are very good. Service is quick and attentive, drinks variety and quality very good and the food is a little pricey but quite good. Nice selection choice between fancy items off the restaurant menu and comfort food / simpler items... More

This restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere, sophisticated but not rigidly so. The personnel are most friendly helpful and patient in explaining the menu and the many combinations possible. The wine, ordered by the glass, was excellent as was the meal. My dinner partner was under the weather with a cold and was offered some ginger tea on the house.... More

Great service and great food. Both bar and restaurant are good. They do close around 11:00 am to set up table for lunch.

Renoir is a very beautiful restaurant with a warm sercive. Our waitress was very kind and explained the menu perfectly. The entry we got (pétoncles à la vanille & foie gras) did not impress us very much, but the plate of oysters was fantastic! The main dishes and deserts were also very good. Overall, great experience.

We were at the restaurant for their "After New Years Special Brunch". I know they have their Sunday brunch each weekend but sometimes the event is extra special. The whole restaurant is opened for this buffet brunch and each item is better than the last. You may have items prepared for you (like Eggs Benedict with salmon or ham) so... More

What a wonderful surprise! I was in Montreal for work and came up a day early to shop. After a perfect sunny day I had planned on going to old Montreal for dinner but decided to eat at the hotel instead after hearing rave reviews. So glad I did. An expensive place to go for bruch but you get good value for your money. Have been taking family there for years for mother's day brunch and family brunches on special occasions like birthdays. Everything was perfect! The food, the location, the ambience, the drinks, the staff... They have hands-down the best fois gras I've ever had. The food's presentation was indeed fine artwork, and the taste? Absolute Perfection! Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
