Cheap tasty vegetarian food

You can easily eat for less than 10$ (tea and dessert included) at Pushap, and the food is quite tasty! The curries aren't very spicy compared to other places, I'd say mild to medium heat depending on what you order. Best dhal I get in Montreal and I'd recommend the cauliflower curry, spinach... read more

It is possible if you come to Pushap. The place is small, but they serve good meals. Especially for vegetarian. My friend always has a hard time to order, she can't decide quickly. She likes all the meals. I can't come often to dine in lately, but always try to drop by for their Samosa with spicy sauce.

Can't find a more untouristy restaurant than this one, but the vegetarian food is tasty and delicious, especially the samosa and the pakoras. Service is friendly, though a bit slow because lot's of customers are coming in for take-out. Did I mention that this restaurant is cheap?

Be warned that there is massive construction around the restaurant this summer and you will need to take a few detours to find parking. Depending on time of day, there is a choice of many vegetarian dishes including gobi-aloo (cauliflower potatoes), channe (chickpeas), bhartha (grilled eggplant and onions), paneer (Indian farmers/cottage cheese), various lentils etc. These are served with freshly... So - the location is terrible and the decor pretty bad. But if you want authentic vegetarian Indian food at amazing prices then this is a great choice. Not a place I would recommend to a visiting tourist but to a local family (like us) it's an awesome place to go to for a quick, tasty and very affordable meal.... More

I've been going to Pushap's since the first one opened. In that time (don't even ask how long!!!) the samosas are still the best I've ever had. As students, we used to order the thali platter that was an incredible bargain then. Now that I'm retired, I order the thali platter because it's the best! I particularly love the palak... More

I live close to Pushap's, which, admittedly is a bit off the tourist map as it is not located downtown but very close to Namur Metro stop on the orange line near Decarie and Jean-Talon and the iconic Orange Julep. This restaurant is a local favourite and last time I was there with a colleague from work for lunch it... More

Pros Excellent tasting food with variety of vegetarian options. No meats here. Prices are very affordable. Curries are 3.95$, and combo thali (plate with several curries and rice) with appetizer and dessert at most is 9.50$ The samosa here is great! Cons High risk that service may run slow. One employee taking care of take out orders and the dining... More

This is my favourite indian restaurant. The food is good, very low-cost & vegetarian. The fried bread is the best I ever had. I always come back & the staff is friendly.
