Nice Vietnamese food

Tasty food and no complaints from anyone in our group of five. We were having a very late dinner while in town for a jazz Fest. Everything was fresh and nice portions, lovely place and we were able to sit by the open window facing the street. However, we were surprised at the lack of vegetarian... read more

This is by far one of the best vietnamese restaurants in Montreal. Totally unpretentious and yet the food is simply superb. The specialty is rolled beef with spicy ( south vietnam) yokmam sauce, Try it. The meat is tender and juicy , and it comes with salad leaves for wraping with mint, basil and coriander leaves . Try the spring... More

This restaurant situated in the festival and Place des Arts area offers good food for a reasonable price. There is a good variety of dirge you may chose from. The food is tasty and fresh.

I must have been to a very different restaurant from the other reviewers....admittedly the reviews are sporadic, looking at the dates. So very disappointing. Over priced Viet street food, Chinese stir fries and bad service to top it all of! The quality of the food is certainly not worth the prices, presentation is moderate. Ok, white starched table cloth, dim lighting... More

Nicely decorated restaurant, really good service, but food is just too much westernized for me. Maybe because I've travelled a lot in asia, but it wasn't the taste that i was expecting.

If you're going to see a show this is the place to eat beforehand. The food was excellent and the service was good. I had the chicken and beef with vegetables on crispy noodles and it was delicious! There are also affordable half bottles of wine which is nice if it's early in the evening! This was my second time... More

Very good Vietnamese food in downtown Montreal (very close to the Hyatt). The crab and asparagus soup was excellent. I had some sort of stir-fried chicken and vegatables, which was fine. They can do mild or spicy, your choice.

We tried this restaurant recently when looking for a place to eat before a concert at Club Metropolis. The reviews are accurate. This is a great place. I had the crab and asparagus soup, followed by a tasty grilled salmon, and my wife had imperial rolls and chicken in peanut sauce; both very good. The only thing we didn't really enjoy... More

We had dinner at Ong Ca Can last evening, a Thursday, walked in off the street at 6:30. We were seated immediately. The service was friendly and very helpful. The meal highlights were the beef rolls - imagine Vietnamese fajitas- using very thin rice wraps. Will definitely return next time in Montreal.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
