A regular spot for great Greek food

It had been a while since my last visit to Mythos. Glad to see that the same quality and great food has not changed. My best experience has always been to order dishes a la tapas style so you can get to try many things.. We had the zucchini/eggplant chips with tzatziki, calamari, kopanisti and... read more

Montreal is a foodie town. So many choices and so little time. There are more famous (and more expensive) Greek restaurants in Montreal. But for my money, and year-after-year consistency, nothing beats Mythos. From the basement chic location, to the brothers who serve you and their unfailing sports trivia knowledge, this is not your average spanakopita and baklava mill. Put... More

My husband and I have celebrated various special occasions at this restaurant several times. The best times have been when we were a minimum of four and this is because it is harder to mingle with the Greek dancing if is only you and your loved one. The average age is 35-45 and the younger crowd (20-30) I've noticed, show... More

We had a reservation for 4 on a Friday night in the restaurant downstairs (live music) and we all had a great time. As you walk in, there is a huge bar area where there is plenty of room to drink, mingle and dance. Our waiter, Fillip, was fantastic. We were seated right away in what we considered the VIP... More

We were a large gang seated on the upper level to celebrate my husband's 57th birthday, on Oct 24th, 2015. We were seated at 3 tables, as requested, and were served efficiently and warmly by a wonderful mother-son team, Vasiliki and Zaphirios. The food was tasty, starting off with fresh bread and a fruity grassy olive oil. Some of us... More

Very good food and service. It gets a little tight in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights, but it's a party in there. It's a little pricey, but worth it for a special night out.

I expected a lot, having heard bout this restaurant in the Montreal Gazette. We were 4 and wanted reservations for 7:00PM, they told us they could not accommodate us downstairs but there was room upstairs. When we got there the downstairs was empty save for 2 couples, there was room for about 100 people. They did give us a table... More

Huge room with great atmosphere. Michael the waiter is special! Zucchini chips and taking are wonderful as are the calamari aa d grilled squid. The Greek salad has right mix of fresh tomato and onion, Great for large groups and there is always taverna dancing downstairs on weekends. A great time! Was a bit disappointed with the lamb shoulder main... More

Great food, great service. I also used to work there. The kitchen is super clean and the food is of high quality. Best time to go: Saturday evening around 8:00pm. Don't forget to make a reservation.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
