There's a reason Forbes Magazine named us one of the Top 10 Steakhouses in the world. And why Moishes has become a Montreal favorite that has endured over 70 years. We think it's the authentic taste of each one of the old world favorites on our menu. If you're an old friend, welcome back. We're always delighted to see you. We couldn't have come this far without you. If you haven't yet, we warmly invite you to discover the taste for yourself, at our restaurant overlooking historic Saint-Laurent Boulevard (The Main.)

Good after 9 menu

Have only ever been here for the after 9 menu on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. For 25$ it's worth it. Appetizers are a bit of a joke -1.5oz of salmon tatar or a salad, but mains are decent and they had more selection since the last time I remember. Steak was fine, good service. They must have been... read more

Take one part excellent steaks, and add in one part decadent Eastern European side dishes, and you have just what the doctor ordered. There's a reason they've been in business for over 70 years....they cook a great steak, yet they stay true to their ethnic roots from "the old country." Can't say that I've ever had potato pancakes accompanying my... More

I do not eat meat but my companion said the steakes were average. My fish was OK but nothing more. My appetiser- Red Pepper was too sweet. All in all it was expenssive and not great value for money

Went here with a large group of hungry guys; service was suburb, cuts n sides were explained thoroughly and orders came out on point. Chopped liver and sweat breads were prepared perfectly and my 22oz sirloin was enjoyed through. Cant say enough about this place, will be back.

This is the best classical steak house i have been too. A more paris brasserie setting , but the meat is delicious. They have their own herb mixture that is super. Last time i could buy it in a store, but not this time.

Very good steakhouse, one of the bests, one of the bests meals in Montreal. The meat is fantastic, only comparable to Morton's in Singapore. To have better than this you have to be in Tokyo and spent three times more, even if Moishe's is not cheap. The wine list is very good and staff with lots of character but do... More

We recently visited as part of a large group. The service was excellent, the food so good, the drinks delicious. We had our children with us and ther servers were good with them, but I wish I had known ahead of time how big the steaks were. They are the size of a plate, so all the sides come on... More

Went there to spend a night in Montreal with my wife. Very stylish and very expensive place. Do not fall for "after 9 pm" menus option: nothing to eat and still costly. We should use a regular menu and have a normal meal. Regarding the service: waters are tamed so well and run so fast - I saw something like... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
