Decent pub grub

I stay downtown when I am in Montreal, and McKibbins is nearby, so I thought I would check it out. The bison burger was really good, the beer selection was similarly good. By my estimation, it was quiet in there, and the service was kind of slow.

You would think that the same franchise should try to keep things relatively the same.. Think again. I had the curry poutine and it was SO salty I couldn't even finish it. At other locations though it is amazing! Our waitress Stephanie C was very rude and unattentive, if you don't feel like working you probably should have just stayed... More

Ok I had just finished walking St. Catherine. So I was hungry after a long day sightseeing. I was in the mood for some fish n chips. So I recalled, that St. Laurent, had several restaurants. So took the bus up north and this was the first Irish Pub the I passed. Got off at the next stop and walked... More

This is a nice place to crack a beer. A little expensive though, and they don't have many options of craft beers (the menu seems to be aleays outdated). But it's nice to meet friends.

Lunch here is a good option, the decor is authentic and full of paintings, jerseys and photos. Food is more Canadian influenced but with lots of Irish options such as Guinness nachos. Decent prices and great service

Great pub food, good beer selection, good service. Visited twice in the same week because we liked the place so much.

A GOOD PURGATIVE I and some friends had lunch at Bishop's McKibbin's on Nov.11, 2014 when the soup was Roast Pork and Coconut Thai Curry. One friend had a half-dozen spoonfuls and then accepted the waitress's offer to replace it. He did not complain, the waitress had returned to ask how was the soup and he reported that it was... Was recommended to us by a friend - went there on a rainy afternoon, and as soon as we were seated, a waitress came over with towels to help us dry off (we looked like drowned rats!) Food was very good (had the House Burger and Chicken and Leek Pie), nice beer selection too.

I love this place, fun & welcoming are complete under statements. Whenever I'm in the city, be it for work or pleasure I can't NOT go here. The food & atmosphere leave you feeling warm inside, while the drink menu in particular the variety of beers (my favourite!), should leave other bars in the city green with envy. I myself... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
