Great food - it is worth the drive!

This indian restaurant located on Jarry near Highway 40 is a great discovery. The food is absolutely delicious. We tried the birmani rice, a goat curry, butter chicken, samosas and naan bread - all of which was delicious. The naan bread is absolutely delicious. If you are looking for indian... read more

I've been eating at this restaurant for a few years now. Each time I go it's worst. The food is good but service is the worst I ever got.

It's been known as the best indian food in Montreal, and I couldn't agree more! :) This place is a must if you enjoy Indian food and are in the Montreal area! My favorite dishes were butter chicken, chilli chicken, channa samosa, naan, vegetable biryani...the list does not end! The service was fast and amazing! I love this place, and... More

i have never had goat meat before, and that dish was simply amazing. Malhi seasoning is subtle, different from other Indian restaurants. The dal soup was ver good. The butter chicken was less fat and better seasoned that others we've had. This is now our favorite Indian restaurant (in Montreal, London has some pretty amazing ones)

Went there on a Sunday evening and liked that the place was nice and busy. The owner is really nice and friendly. The food was good. Some of their employees are a bit grumpy but maybe they were having a bad day? Either way -this is a nice place to visit if you are in the area. I was in... More

Don't go for the coffee or tea, they don't serve it, but what they do serve is outstanding. Last night we had dinner at Malhi Sweets with a group of 8 people and the food and service were outstanding. Mr. Malhi gave us personal attention and even provided a special dish that was not on the menu. By far the... More

We keep coming back every time we have an urge for indian food. Whenever we ask the kids where they want to it out... it's always Malhi. Everything is good. My favorite is the Shahi Paneer. Just love it. The pakora is delicious, so is the curries and the kormas, no matter what you have you will be delighted. And... More

I went there on a busy Saturday night, where I had to wait for about 25-30 mins, however it was worth all the wait. Eventhough, it was busy and crowded the service was extraordinary! I had butter chicken, lamb biryani (my favorite) and goat curry with obviously a must have, fresh naan bread. It was sooooooo good. I cant even... More

Great food, great service. The reviews lived up to the food. The portions were great giving us dinner for later. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Montreal.

We have been going to Malhi for years. Serving excellent food, this is an unpretentious, friendly, family business (the owner is always on the premises) It seats about thirty, in clean and basic surroundings which have lately been renovated. The food is always intensely flavorful. Portions are generous and the price is very reasonable. Bet bets: channa samosa ( appetizer)... More

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighborhood Profile
Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighborhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's center, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping center offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
