Great sushi place

A very large selection of sushi/sashimi/nigiri. They have a large paper for marking which ones and in which quantities you'd like to order - very helpful for several people dining together. Also a quite large menu of other Japanese cuisine. Looking on other people's orders - worth trying. We've... read more

This is a great place for sushi. The quality is beyond expectation and the service is very sharp. I was not impressed by the loud and inadequate music, they should go for more asian music that techno, after all we are here to eat and not to party.

On our recent visit we sampled a variety of Chef Maiko's creations, which for sophistication and flavour impact were miles ahead of anything on the menu at the #1-ranked sushi restaurant in Montreal on TA, SAINT sushi bar, which I awarded just 3 stars last month. Maiko's house specialties are a riot of colour, with risk-taking mixes of seafood, fruit,... More

Sushi is very good! The service is very good. Atmosphere is very nice. I only eat here twice a year because it does get pricey. Every time I go I end up spending at least $125 Definitely worth it tho.

I took some friends to Maiko having been there before and I'm delighted to say that my second visit was even better than the first. The food is just so delicious. My friends were equally impressed with the quality of the food and the price. I hope whoever owns this place reads this review because the staff deserve a massive... More

We dined as a family here and were well served. The youngest liked the fish tank but it is placed in the midst of tables so he could not stand and observe without being in the way. Great sushi but one guest who is allergic to gluten could not be assured what was ordered could be free of gluten.

Went to Maiko at Source Boulv. Definitely one of best sushi restaurants in Montreal! Please try! Ask for the not on the menu items. One of the best items are: Lobster tartar, trout / foie gras, foie gras sushi. The service is always outstanding.

My wife and I go there almost every week. The choice of sashimi, sushi, maki and a number of inventions for the chef, Maiko, is impressive. The quality of the products and service is impeccable. For the complete experience, ask to sit at the bar in front of Maiko and let her choose your menu: you won't be disappointed! Maiko... More

We went to Maiko Sushi as we were told it is one of the best in Montreal. We were not disappointed. The ambiance, service and food was excellent. The menu is extensive and offers combinations that may sound strange but really work. It is without a doubt a restaurant that should be returned to in order to sample all that... More

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
