Great sushis!!

Good sushi restaurant! Delicious pieces and good wine list. The ambiance is nice. They also do take-out. Enjoy Maiko's sushis!

A close friend and I were dumbfounded as to where to go to dinner but then I remembered Maiko Sushi...........................and I am glad that I did. A truly GREAT restaurant, for the food, the presentation of the food, and the overall atmosphere. In the past my wife would go every few months, but with travelling so much we have had... More

Sushi was good, we had Spider Maki, Sweet Potato Maki, Shrimp Tempura roll and Butterfly roll and all were very good. Presentation in particular was very pretty. Service was a bit on the slow side, but everyone was very pleasant. A little expensive for the amount of sushi that you actually get in my opinion. The restaurant itself has a... More

Great experience, great service, great meal. The staff are very formal : Not rude but not very friendly. We have gone a couple of times now, both in a group and as a family. We love it.

Considering the prices, I was expecting top quality Japanese food. We had the beignet appetizer, it was quite good, mostly because of the depth of flavour in the dipping sauce it came with. The meals came with a lovely tomato flower garnish, which I appreciated and it was tasty (again mostly because of the flavourful sauce) but the the beef... More

I enticed people to come with us to have what I considered the best sushi I have experienced and that's a lot of different places. This last period, the service was horrible, the food, no matter what was ordered was average from excellent. I wrote a letter to the owners and also sent an email to the restaurant and yet... More

A very large selection of sushi/sashimi/nigiri. They have a large paper for marking which ones and in which quantities you'd like to order - very helpful for several people dining together. Also a quite large menu of other Japanese cuisine. Looking on other people's orders - worth trying. We've eaten only sushi, and had many different ones. All were just... More

This is a great place for sushi. The quality is beyond expectation and the service is very sharp. I was not impressed by the loud and inadequate music, they should go for more asian music that techno, after all we are here to eat and not to party.

On our recent visit we sampled a variety of Chef Maiko's creations, which for sophistication and flavour impact were miles ahead of anything on the menu at the #1-ranked sushi restaurant in Montreal on TA, SAINT sushi bar, which I awarded just 3 stars last month. Maiko's house specialties are a riot of colour, with risk-taking mixes of seafood, fruit,... More

Sushi is very good! The service is very good. Atmosphere is very nice. I only eat here twice a year because it does get pricey. Every time I go I end up spending at least $125 Definitely worth it tho.

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
