Being an Indian and a Food lover I always have big expectations when I go to an Indian restaurant. I have had a chance to dine here when I was on vaction and I would say this restaurant met my expectations except that we didn't reserve a table and had to wait for about 40 min to get a table... more
We have tried many Indian restaurants in Ottawa, a few in Toronto and this was our first in Montreal. Our favorite is still a hole in the wall place called "Little India Cafe" in Ottawa however Le Taj was a close-ish second. Almost always, Indian restaurants with unusual menu items are excellent ... everybody and his brother-in-law can make tandoori chicken and the rest of the "regular" Indian menu, but only innovative places offer something extra. We went there last night and were very happy with the food and the service. Depending upon your price point you may find this slightly expensive (15-20 dollar entrees; with extra for rice or nan). more
le taj is the worst restaurent i ever went to in the whole world. i went to its lunch buffet that costed 15 dollars with taxes, the buffet was consistant of only tandori chicken, medium quality and lente. the fruit was only grapes of very low quality. the service is zero, no one if bringing you water and no one... more
The food here is good, don't get me wrong, but the portions are small in the evening compared to what you would get in the UK, and the atmosphere isn't great. The food is expensive for what you get. more

We are repeat customers and found ourselves once again very happy with the food and the service. While the wait for our table was a bit long, Le Taj is well worth a visit! more
From appetizers to desserts evertthing was excellent. Best Indian I have ever had so far. Expensive but worth the price. more
