Excellent food and service

Our first time at this restaurant and we definetely recommend. The food and service was excellent. Must like spicey foods, however I ordered the butter chicjen and it was perfect!! Will surely return here for another meal on our next visit to the city.

I stumbled upon this place and was attracted by their reasonable pricing for their lunch buffet at CAD$15. Coming from Singapore where Indian food is common, and also comparing this against the Indian food I had in my 2 trips to India, I have come to a verdict that the taste is very close to what you can get back... Every item in the menu presents an authentic taste of Indian cuisine. The ingredients are very fresh, the location is accessible (downtown), and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place! (It is romantic too <3)

As a British family living in Montreal, a good curry house is one of the things we miss most about the UK. The Taj fills this gap for us - great food, excellent service, fairly priced. It's now our families favourite restaurant in Montreal. Would recommend to anyone in search of a good curry, although perhaps a little posher than... More

I was in Montreal arriving late Friday night and staying at the Omni so wanted something closeby. The TripAdvisor reviews looked good and the restaurant didn't disappoint. It took me 20 minutes to wait for a table but the staff were very accommodating. They have an excellent wine list including Indian wines and a small selection of draught beers. The... More

This restaurant was right around the corner from my hotel. I went in expecting to have to trade off convenience for quality but I was very wrong. The experience I had was wonderful! I enjoyed succulent fish tikka, fluffy rice, delicious chutneys of types unusual for UK diners, and very friendly and helpful service. I have to eat gluten free... More

An incredible dining experience for an Indian Restaurant. Having seen many that aren't always decorated in a contemporary way and been in many with lesser service, to have such incredible food too in a chic environment with incredibly attentive servers I felt was leading unto a hefty bill. Not at all. I highly recommend the Chicken Jafrazi and Lamb Bhuna,... More

Tasty, wonderful food served with kindness and good cheer. Very pretty, clean, and quiet (in a very good way!!) Lots of patrons, but the sound level was well controlled. The lamb and beef were beautifully seasoned and the rice, nan, and samosas lovely. Highly recommended and well situated in downtown Montreal.

It is great to eat lunch in Montreal in an expensive restaurant. Always less than $20 , always an opportunity to sample the cuisine. It is a fixed price Buffet at the Taj . The Samosas were delicious, the pakoras flaccid and cold yet tasty, Vegetable dishes Dall , chick peas, vegetables Indian style salads and condiments(no mango chutney). When... More
