My family and I went at 5pm, had exceptional service and the food was perfect. My daughter had veal, I had the lamb shank, other family had rib eye steak, salmon in curry sauce and tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes. We started with escargot on a mushroom sauce and creamy carrot soup. The escargot was tender, not chewy and the... More

Had dinner here last night with another couple. All four meals were fantastic. The service was also fantastic. The waiters helpful and engaging. The meals were perfectly prepared. Definitely worth the visit.

I went to this sophisticated and charming French restaurant for a birthday occasion. It was an ideal choice for that evening. The weather was little windy, so instead of eating on their quaint outdoor terrace, we chose to sit inside where the ambience was warm & inviting. I found that the interior brick walls definitely added to the charm &... More

Very quaint atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. We've been to Paris, and it felt like a small French restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had the house red wine and house Sauvignon Blanc and enjoyed both. I had the veal scallopini and the cold avacado soup. I usually am not a fan of cold soups, but it was... More

The food was authentic and perfectly prepared! The staff was warm and friendly, and knew the delicate art of serving. The wine was unpretentious and inexpensive, yet I found myself impressed (without spending a fortune...who knew?!). The atmosphere somehow felt like Paris. Don't ask me how they achieved this, but we walked away that night feeling like we had crossed... More

What a great find! Wait staff couldn't have been better, truly friendly. The owner and our waiter and his staff were the best. A great place for dinner and wine. Food was "Fantastique" and the wine, suggested by our waiter, was their house wine, and it was "Delicieux". And a very fair price for a great wine. Portions were perfect.... More

We recently had dinner for 12 at this restaurant that has been a mainstay in Montreal for more than 45 years. The atmosphere is very French, the service was outstanding and the food was great. I had seared tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes that was wonderful. Highly recommended

In a true, all-around review this is a tough critique. However if you focus on food and the menu, this is the best french food in town. The menu is classically french. The beef tartar is the best, I've tasted all the restaurants, it's the best -Period. The have a great rabbit ragu, the best blue tuna steak, and many... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
