A perfect spot to sit on a terrace away from the tourists and ask ourselves why we ever left Montreal all those years ago. We chose the three course menu and each dish was perfect. (Don't forget to order dessert). If you prefer more of a bistro atmosphere, forego the terrace and sit inside.

Nice ambience in dated space...service just ok, food was a bit of a disappointment. Served a pretty flat glass of sparkling wine to start. Three different waiters came to ask if we wanted a drink before dinner. Pate seemed hard and flavorless. Entrees just ok. Overall, overpriced...over $200 with tip for two.

We had a wonderful experience at Le Mas des Oliviers. Neither of us are French cuisine connoisseurs but we found the food well prepared and delicious. The staff was gregarious and helpful.

My wife and I went here based on a recommendation from our hotel. We were not disappointed. It is located off of St. Catherine's St. It was a very nice evening so we chose to sit at an outside table. We started out with snails and then moved onto our main course. My wife had filet mignon with shrimp and... More

I came here two years earlier and was blown away by how good everything was but this time it just wasn't as good. The free pieces of meat we got to nibble on the first time tasted like a nice piece of cured meat, this time it was more like a pepperoni. Got smoked salmon as an appetizer and it... More

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Montreal! There is nothing pretentious about it-just solid, delicious, and authentic French food. Dont miss it!

We went there following advises from Trip advisor and because our hotel (Novotel) was at walking distance. We had a very nice dinner on the terrace made of fish "a la basquaise" and deer. The waiters (all french) were very friendly and the Chef from Clermont-Ferrand was nice enough to share some time with us. A very pleasant dinner.

Really appreciated the special care and attention to detail from everyone there (including the owner) even on a really busy saturday night. Once again Tony (maître D) you truly are the best by far! Will definitely keep coming back. Thanks for the amazing evening and all the laughter xoxo

My wife and 2 other couples ate at this classic French Bistro recently during our recent vacation in Montreal. It lived up to our every expectation. Situated on Rue Bishop in a quaint neighborhood the townhouse they are in was quaint and comfortable. We were greeted with a smile and promptly taken to our table. There is inside and outside... The service was outstanding. Food was wonderful. I had the Salmon, my wife had Pacific Black Bass - both were prepared perfectly with delicious sauces. Good choices on the wine list. Not busy on a Monday night. I would go back in a minute.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
