Really appreciated the special care and attention to detail from everyone there (including the owner) even on a really busy saturday night. Once again Tony (maître D) you truly are the best by far! Will definitely keep coming back. Thanks for the amazing evening and all the laughter xoxo

My wife and 2 other couples ate at this classic French Bistro recently during our recent vacation in Montreal. It lived up to our every expectation. Situated on Rue Bishop in a quaint neighborhood the townhouse they are in was quaint and comfortable. We were greeted with a smile and promptly taken to our table. There is inside and outside... The service was outstanding. Food was wonderful. I had the Salmon, my wife had Pacific Black Bass - both were prepared perfectly with delicious sauces. Good choices on the wine list. Not busy on a Monday night. I would go back in a minute.

With so many great restaurants to choose from in Montreal, it was a difficult choice to make. My Husband and I only had two nights in the city. We wanted French but more of a neighborhood French restaurant. We found the right place! The staff treated us very well. We enjoyed first having a glass of wine at their bar... More

Usually TripAdvisor reviews lead us to great restaurants, but unfortunately this was not one. We are actually baffled by all the glowing reviews here. Maybe we were just unlucky or ordered the worst things on the menu? Maybe lunch isn't as good as dinner? Jon had the sausages, which were indistinguishable from street-meat hotdogs and came with a salad. I... More

Expensive but worth every penny. The best French food I've had in ages. They do the classics very well: escargot, veal, rabbit, etc. Service was friendly and helpful. Restaurant is centrally located.

Great French restaurant with very professional staff members. Delicious French fare offered in traditional setting. Every patron seemed to be old friends from the neighbourhood. Great downtown location, south of Sainte Catherine street, the main shopping mecca

Good food and friendly staff though a little pushy at times. My wife didn't want any wine and they must of asked her like 10 times if she wanted some. The same with dessert. We didn't want any and they kept asking. We had the filet for two and it was one of the best cooked pieces of meat we... More

Montreal seems to have a split personality : one minute is trying to impress you with the height of its buildings and the number of shops in its shopping malls, the next it flaunts its magnificent churches, its undoubted love of culture and general Frenchness. When it comes to Le Mas de Oliviers there is no doubt at all as... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
