Lovely restaurant to visit in Montreal

Good environment, nice and friendly staff, lovely live jazz band! The menu is basic, not over complicated! Highly recommended for summer season!

This restaurant is very interesting to see. The inside courtyard feels like you are inside but you are really outside. The walls are covered with beautiful flowers. We went on a Friday evening and there was a Jazz band playing. Go early because the line up is very long after 5.

Ideally located in Vieux-Monreal on Place Jacques-Cartier the restaurant has an open space with multiple terraces and live music. We had salads for lunch and my Chef salad was really average. My wife had an asian salad ... and the result was the same. Go there for the ambiance. Don't expect a lot for the food.

Great food and fast service. Jazz band plays quietly while eating. The flowers are amazing. We had lobster sandwich with summer salad and ribs glazed with maple syrup for appetizer. Nice atmosphere and highly recommend.

We went as couple for brunch on a summer day. It is a nice place in the old port to enjoy the summer, sit outside, hear some talented musicians, and have good food.

I've reviewed this restaurant before and given how highly we thought of it, we were keen to return this summer.....While the location, and gardens, jazz music playing etc remains the same, it seems the rest of the experience is slipping a little. We have noticed the prices just keep growing, while the quality and quantity of menu items falls back... More

Great location with outdoor seating. I ordered a sausage appetizer and a small carafe of sangria. The sausage was unusual in presentation and fantastic. The sangria was even better.

Super popular huge place. Open air courtyard in back behind an historic facade. Some would consider it too touristy, but it is saved by the beautiful flowers and excellent live jazz. Our service was rather slow and I thought our crepes were a bit ordinary but I still enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a... More

If the yummy crepes filled with whatever you can crave for or the best-sangria-ever offered at this place will not win you over – you should at least open your eyes to the surrounding atmosphere and enjoy! Love entertainment provided by talented start-up youngsters, as I was told. And the décor!!! Absolutely fantastic, behind a fake-house facade to the main... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
