Nice atmostphere

We went to this place Last summer. We had a large group and the wait time was over an hour. But it was worth it. The place is beautiful on the inside. Food was okay but the ambience made up for it. Highly recommend but be ready for a long wait.

Yep, gotta love Jardin Nelson restaurant, for brunch, lunch, dinner, espcially sitting outside on the terrasse listening to live jazz music. Food is lovely, service, and pricing is great....ambiance hard to beat, and located conveniently close to everything. Love the White sail like umbrellas that it makes you feel like your in a cruise ship....line ups are common, but well... More

Bit of a wait to get in if you are unable to secure a reservation, but worth the wait. This restaurant has no roof, but has huge umbrellas to shield diners from sun and rain. Flora and fauna decorate everywhere, making you feel like you are indeed in a garden. I had the pleasure of dining with live music, which... More

What a great little gem nestled in the heart of Old Montreal! We always try to sit in the back garden. It's nice to be outside, listening to the band, and enjoying delicious food with great sangria. If you have not been to Jardin Nelson, do try it!

The food was absolutely great! The garden seating space was huge and this definitely has won my heart! Drinks - cider in jugs on offers, staff super friendly and the food exquisite! Pleasure for the body and mind.

We come to Montreal almost every year for the Jazz Fest over July 4th weekend. One of our favorite meals is always a brunch outside in the courtyard. There is typically a short wait for a table but it's worth it. We love the setting with all of the lovely flowers and there's live symphony music as well. Typically, we... More

We were very surprised when we were shown to our table in the courtyard, it is a oasis of great food, pleasant music and good service. The staff were friendly and attentive, the drinks great and the food excellent.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
