Great food, great service, great location, wonderful ambiance

This was our 3rd time eating here and did not disappoint. We chose to sit at the bar as we love chatting with the wait staff behind the bar. Had the beet salad and the risotto. Very good food, great ambiance and in a great area of town (St. Denis). Fantastic wine list. Will definitely return here.

Drove to Montreal for the day to Visit the museum Beaver Hall Exhibit. Planned to eat before leaving and was recommended this restaurant. We were not disappointed, the food was good and the service excellent! Never had to ask for refills for the water and wine even if it was at our table. The bill came to us individually since... Our dinner was good, but we had food envy from other tables. We both thought we should have ordered other dishes. Look around before you order :)

This is another 5 star and it deserves it. The place is one of the oldest in the city and some of the waiters have been there for over 30 years. The service is perfect, the food is awesome and it's open late so if you want a good meal at midnight this is the place, The flank steak, the... More

Made reservations here so seating wasn't a problem. Highly recommended to call in ahead of time as this is a popular place. White table cloth French dining so prices are on the high side of mid range. We had the sole with haricot vert and quail legs. Nicely prepared with freshest ingredients. Service was spot on and very attentive to... More

We have come now 4 times over as many years and it is always as expected. French bistro classics at a fair price in a nice atmosphere and location. We get the rognons (kidneys) and quail, the soups and oysters. Wine is fairly priced and everything is simply perfect. It is loud, service is good, not great, and it can... More

This was my first visit, the service and the food are perfection. We sat at the bar late on a Monday and had a delicious bottle of wine (their wine menu is excellent and well-priced. Many bottles in the $35 CAD range) along with steak tartare and duck. The bar service is beyond perfection, the barback truly owned the bar... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
