This is a place that out of town celebrities come to not just because it's "hip", but because the quality of the meals is outstanding and original. An example of an outstanding original dish is the octopus and lentils - WOW! Although it's quite noisy, it's definitely worth a trip to this fine bistro.

Good wine selection, even though most of the wines are quite expensive (ask the waiter for advices!!). The food was good but not excellent. We had a salad with duck confit and quails with rice and a bottle of wine for 110$.

Classic Montreal bistro food. Always busy, professional servers, great food. I'm always happy I went and this is my default place to go in Montreal.

Awesome french bistro. Highly recommend the bone marrow - hugest portion I have ever seen. Not a large place, and excellent service!

Comfort food. If you grew up with French chefs add parents. It is amazing what they do with simple ingredients. They let us squeeze in without a reservation. And they did not yet to rush us at all. It isn't cheap, but it feels very good value. The food was delicious, we felt good after eating it. They were very... More

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal and a delightful evening on Sunday, June 22 at L'Express. Our reservation was honored and we were promptly seated. The menu was appealing and we were quite pleased with our selections. The service was professional and welcoming and the atmosphere was lovely. The price was reasonable. We would certainly return if and... More

Had dinner at L'Express in Montreal and had a wonderful time. Seems like a nice neighborhood restaurant with many locals. They must know where the good food is because it was full. Started with the asparagus soup (chilled) which I was surprised with but it was very good. Followed with the sea bass, excellent dinner, small piece of fish but... More

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting, the service was great and it lived up to the reviews. The area its in didn't have much to offer but I would happily go back for an excellent meal.

We always love eating at this restaurant. The atmosphere is like a Paris bistro. This time we were able to sample fiddlehead ferns, which are a wild seasonal green. We had seen them earlier in the day at the Jean Talon outdoor market. We were intrigued when the merchant explained the cooking process to us. They have to be cleaned... More
