We ate here a long time ago and enjoyed it so we thought we would try it again. It is a "Bring Your Own Wine" which we always like. My husband had the sirloin kebab and I had the kofta. The menu said the kofta were meatballs but they were really hamburgers. Really good but I could not finish them.... More

The lamb is just amazing. Actually just about everything on the menu is amazing and you may very well find yourself looking at other tables and saying "wow we need to come back and try that" The atmosphere is very warm and inviting inside with a cool terrace out back, perfect for evening dining. Don't be afraid to ask your... More

My husband and I are in Montreal several times a year and Khyber Pass has ended up being a restaurant that we go to every time we are there. I absolutely love this place. Authentic Afghan food, friendly staff, efficient service, and decent prices. The portions are huge, you will leave stuffed. The cucumber and tomato salad on your entree... More

The food and the service overcame the warmth in the restaurant and our seating position. We shared the botanical citrouille (pumpkin in tomato sauce with ginger, turmeric, and garlic yogurt) as a spectacular starter and then each had one of the 2 tasty lamb shank dishes (one with spinach and 3 rices and the other with carrot and raisins in... It was a perfect evening out for dinner. Our reservation was ready on time and we were given a couple of tables in a cozy corner of their outdoor courtyard terrace. The rustic and informal atmosphere of their terrace was a great place to enjoy our meal on a warm summer evening. The food was wonderful. The table d'hote or... More

The food was great very original and the terrace is a great environment to relax in. Service was slow possibly due to its popularity as we had to wait for a table and wait even longer at our table for service.

Maybe this is actually my third time back here, but the first in a couple of years. Was pleased to see that my fond memories were not to be let down -- excellent food and terrific service. Was with in-laws who hadn't had Afghani food before and they were all very pleased with it. Had the chicken kebab as my... More

We loved our dinner at Khyber Pass. The terrace in the rear has a lovely atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the service wonderful! Beware, however, that the restaurant does not accept Mastercard. A very odd omission in 2014 (and one that surprised us - fortunately, they accept U.S. dollars)!

Best meal I've had in Montreal yet. Went with 3 friends, native from Montreal, St Louis, Durbin S.A. and me from Seattle. We all had lamb shank prepared two different ways. The owners son was our waiter, very knowledgeable about the menu. We let him pick out appetizers, the flavors were incredible, shank fell apart on the plate. Best part,... More
