Great experience... Food and atmosphere

The minute you enter, you know you're not in a tourist trap. The place is extremely authentic, friendly, well priced and great food. Their outdoor seating towards the inside is also a great surprise when the weather permits.

we had heard many good things about this restaurant so decided to check it out. Overall the food is good and they provide you with large portions. One thing to note: on the menu it states that a minimum order per person must be $18 or more. Since most of the main courses start at $17-$18 this is not a... More

The food was fabulous (5 star), the staff was friendly. We started with the mashaba soup which was superb, very rich and tasty. Then we ordered 2 entrees, the sambosa and mantoo, both were amazing and aromatic. For the mains, my wife had the teka Kebob filet mignon, it some of the tenderest meat we've ever tried. I had the... The place has an excentric and tasteful food. It is an unique flavour. Besides that, they have a nice decoration and fair prices. I suggest the menus. Even though it may be more than you need to eat, you can have a taste of different options (and they are all good). Oh! You can bring your own wine, if you... More

This place is known for its lamb shank and my lamb karma was awesome! It's super saucy whereas other lamb options are more dry rub. It comes with a huge plate of three rices and some garnish. I'm not thoroughly acquainted with Afghany food, but nonetheless, it was delicious.

This place is excellent. It is often very crowded thus reservations are recommended. The food is very authentic and delicious. The Kabli rice with lamb is a must-try dish!

With plenty of restaurants around on Duluth street, this one does have competition .... The restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of hanging carpets and light pieces. Cozy areas where you can relax and have your dinner in a nice setting. Food is good Afghan food. I tried the set menu at 27 dol and you can combine a variety... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
