Great Afghan!

Been to Khyber Pass on many occasions, i go there for the leg of lamb which is very good. No brainer Bring your own Bottle, nicely decorated and always good service. It's not about high flight gastronomy just well done dishes for a good price.

Absolutely fantastic food, decor and service. We only recently moved to Montreal from Birmingham, UK which has it's own fair share of great Middle Eastern Restaurants and this was up there with the best. If you're a lover of lamb then this is definitely the place to go. My wife and I visited on a bustling Sunday evening at 7pm... More

Pretty disappointed in the service here. I felt like the staff was not very kind, not welcoming, and overall did not feel warm or inviting. My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy. Our server barely looked at us, did not come by to ask how the food was or if we needed... More

A good thing in the Montreal food scene is the ability to sample cuisine from far away place. Khyber Pass is a welcoming little restaurant in the middle of the Plateau, surrounded by the usual french/greek/italian restaurants. The food was quite good, we liked the beef kebab (tender and juicy), the delicious mantoo (ground beef entree) and the excellent pudding... More

Great food, great set, great price. Nothing else to say. If you do like meat, or even if you don't, it's the best choice for the both! Brochettes are stunning and the sides as well, all nicely presented on the plate. The experience of sharing food and drinks in a very little Afghanistan makes it as you were in your... More

My wife and I had a very nice dinner here in early November. Its a small Afghan restaurant, with an intimate and romantic feel. We were the only Americans there - and every table was full. Like many Plateau restaurants, its BYOB. The food was good, not outstanding. The filet mignon brochettes with 3 types of basmati rice was excellent;... More

My partner and I ordered and shared 2 lamb dishes. Both were outstanding. This is the best lamb I have tasted anywhere in the world. The restaurant is a beautiful ethnic space with rickety floors and lots of charm. They. Do not serve wine. You are welcome to take your own .

Some of the food was very good; it was a bit on the pricey side compared the other BYOBs on the same street. I didn't care for the breads and dips; the tea was very low quality an bland; the pistachio cream dessert didn't carry much pistachios and the flavours didn't come through. The only good thing was the entree.... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
