Great fish, warm atmosphere, friendly servers. I really enjoyed the tomato salad (best tomatoes I've tasted this summer), and the grilled daurade (aka porgy/sea bream). Ferreira might be pricey compared to some restaurants, but I thought the prices were fair considering the extremely high quality. They offer a late night menu (around 10 pm- not super late night!) which offers... more

Found this place while looking for an another restaurant we'd been recommended and went in as it looked nice. We weren't disappointed. A friendly waiter suggested some Portuguese wine, I described what I like as and he was spot on, his recommendation was exactly what we asked for. There is an extensive menu of fresh fish and everything was well... more

Ferreira Cafe is my favorite as far as food in Montreal. Everything is so delicious and the wine list gives opportunity to taste portuguese wines, that we would not taste otherwise. However, the tables are very close together, and it is busy and noisy. We go for the food, not so much for the atmosphere. more

This place has nothing of a trattoria or café: it is a sophisticated restaurant, and a very good one. Expensive, even by London (UK) standards, but well worth it. I had very tasty fleur de sel roasted sardines with corn croutons and olive tapenade, followed by delicious roasted salted cod filet, with onions sautéed in olive oil and garlic new... more

Impressed with some dishes, very disappointed with others. The seafood was very well cooked but some dishes lacked flavour such as the risotto. Service could have been better. We were overlooked even though there were few customers that evening. more

Expensive but fantastic. Went once for a special occasion. Seemed to be a seen-and-be-seen place, but the staff was very pleasant and accommodating to our arrival with no reservation. One of the best meals I've had. more

My wife and I had a lovely (if somewhat pricey) dinner at Ferreira Cafe Trattoria in October 2008. We were able to get a table right away in the otherwise very popular restaurant without reservations; the service and food were excellent. We both had fish that was well prepared and professionally served. The service in general was excellent and a... more

Dined at Ferreira Friday evening. Ordered cocktails from the energetic, polished, well groomed blonde waitress, vodka gimlet, she brought a vodka gibson..., fair enough, I explained it is just vodka and lime juice with ice, and it came back strained straight-up, in a sugar rimmed champaigne flute, vodka, sour mix and a cherry. She was somewhat insistent and defensive instead... more
