Great lunch at a great price

Three of us had lunch there yesterday. The place was packed but noise level really not bad. The food was delicious from entrees to main course: snails en brioche, salmon and chevre crepe, veal liver cooked to perfection ( they are renowned for this plate), Fish-morue- so well prepared with... read more

The menu is French , I tried the dorade grillée which was good but the salade de cresson was not tasty and the bisque d'homard was very salty . My friends had the tartare de saumon which was not as expected but as a whole the ambience is very good.

I was privileged to get invited to Chez Leveque two consecutive days and both days the food was great as well as the service. I loved their onion soup, their beef burgundy, and an omelete. The ambiance is also great. Very cozy and very French. I highly recommend it.

I visited Chez Leveque while on a business trip in Montreal. The restaurant is located in a trendy area with lots of boutique shops in the area. Too bad most of them were closing for the night while we were walking to the restaurant (6:00 pm). This is a popular restaurant as it was quite busy for a Tuesday night... More

We were 8 adults with reservation. Three of us wanted to try their famous Filet Mignon Rossini. It was good but not worth the45$ per portion. The service was not good at all. We came in and were asked if we wanted drinks. We indicated that we wanted to wait for the rest of the group. Well the rest of... More

The tables might be a little crowded during busy times, but this seems to be a popular place for business people or retired people who like to dress nicely. Not your hiking and backpack crowd - but not too formal to where someone in shorts with a backpack would feel unwelcome (as we were dressed). We had baked Cod that... More

I cannot remember writing about a resto. twice, but I have to this time. Chez l'Evesque (The Bishop's Place) 40 years old, has a new menu, bigger, more varied, but just as mouth watering as before. We sat on the covered terrace on rue Laurier, a street packed with eateries. Great friendly service, knowledgable and helpful as always (well, this... More

We enjoyed our brunch there. As others point out there is an attitude from some employees, especially a hostess woman however the patio is very nice and food is enjoyable. I can imagine that i would get mad if they would take forever to serve the meal but i guess we got lucky and everything went perfect. We ordered lobster... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
