Great experience with local friends!

Our two friends suggested this place from Montreal, even though they hadn't been there in a while, so weren't sure what to expect. The hipster wait staff were relaxed, friendly and efficient, giving us a big table to accommodate our friends baby. The beers and food were all excellent, and... read more

Hello, I would like to make a complaint about last night. Our reservation was at 8:45pm. It took about an hour to get bread at our table... The oil you served with the bread was definitely no good either... Somebody must have added something because it tasted off. I had to remind the waiter twice for the bread. In addition,... More

After a long day of tennis at the Rogers Cup, we stumbled upon this place while walking to our hotel from the bus. Intriguing wall stucco decor was a suggestion that maybe the food was also intriguing, and it truly was. Original in presentation, great tastes, had a fun evening of wonderful tapas and great wine at a good price

I had eaten here once before several years ago and remembered it positively. This time was disappointing. There were good points: the service was excellent, the wine list was composed mostly of interesting private imports from Spain-after considerable discussion and a few tastes of wines available by the glass, we chose a bottle that was excellent. Several tapas were really... More

Could be described as a long wait for nothing. The slowest service I've seen in ages. Living only 3 streets away and having a not so great experience last time, we said what can it hurt? Slow service for nothing, not a busy place. We see it more as unorganized. Paid the overpriced bill. We never complained and were never... More

We have visited this restaurant numerous times! Wonderful assortment of tapas choices! We just spent a few days in Barcelona and ate in many tapas restaurants...my husband heard Anthony Bourdain on TV talking about the wonderful restaurants in Barcelona...we tried many of them...when the plane landed in Montreal...my husband was dreaming of Casa Tapas...we ate there this week...and enjoyed better... We decided to eat here because the hostess on the street took her time to explain the menu in detail in English and the menu had a lot of variety. The sangria was our favourite part! Service was great and so was the food!

That is a great table. I have been at Casa Tapas many times and it is always great. Tapas are good and service is impeccable. Server helped us chose our meal and provided great description. Decor is very nice

We were a group of 9 and they took a reservation on a busy Friday night. The food was very good, great portions and we loved the decor. It was walking distance to Boul St. Laurent after for drinks and our waiter was great and gave us suggestions and a map to find it! Definitely plan to spend some time... More

Awesome décor and excellent food. I always love restaurants that serve bread (and oil to dip it in) while you're ordering your drink and deciding on food. This place even had olives. Somewhat pricey, but the food is pretty high end. Servings are small in your typical upscale restaurant style, but you will not go hungry. Also, our server made... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
