I've been here many times. Used to love the food...and I don't know if they've changed chefs or what, but the last 2 times, it wasn't so good. Dry, dry sausages. Burnt potatoes. No seasoning. Sigh. The beer selection but VERY expensive and the service is always very poor. Flighty servers, and I get attitude any time I expect service... More

I was walking along when I saw this place. Hidden gem. Really tasty beer food, with all sort of beers to go with it. I will definitely be back.

Staff friendly but not especially competent, the food was indifferent, the beers - OK but not great compared to US, British or Belgian beer. Food took ages to come - the bar tender (I was eating at the bar, did give me a complementary shot, which was a nice gesture).

The restaurant looks bright and clean, and service was efficient and friendly. The onion soup was full of flavour, the best I've tasted. The caribou burger was good, and the Moroccan mussels were delicious. I also enjoyed a cherry beer - much better than it sounds!

My wife and stopped in here after a very wet walk in Mont Royal park. Their lunch time table d'hote was very good and they have a good selection of beer. It was after the lunch rush so the service was very efficient.

We went on a Sunday evening for the all-you-can-eat-mussel-menu, and I had 2 portions of the Thai mussels. They were delicious, and I would definitely go back for more. The only thing that kind'of ruined the experience was the wine. I am of the opinion that white wine goes with sea food and fish, so I ordered a glass of... More

First, let me say that I've been to this restaurant before and it was a better experience. This time around, I was less than impressed. They still have a great beer selection and the menu has a lot to offer, but I was very disappointed with my selection. Of the almost two pages of mussels on offer, I chose the... More

This place was quite wonderful. They have a very extensive menu, and it seemed very Alsatian to me. It was definitely a French place, but with strong German influences (matly beers, sausages, saurerkraut, a variety of mustards), which I had experienced (and loved) in Strasbourg, France. Everything about my evening here was great. I loved the food, and the portion... More

Any place that serves mussels will draw my wife like a shark to blood. This was in our neighborhood, on Rue St. Denis just south of Ave. Mount-Royal, so we had to go. Offering all-you-can-eat mussels on Sun-Wed just sealed the deal. The mussels aren't the only thing here, though there are seventeen different ways to prepare them. They also... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
