Nice breack

Nice restaurant offering a large choice of Belgium beers and mussels. They also serve "improved" burgers and have nice cocktails. I ate very well and recommend. Some drawbacks: expensive I guess... So noisy!!! Staff is nice!

On a business trip and a coworker recommended this restaurant from a previous visit. We really didn't know what to expect but had a wonderful time. Slightly dim inside, great decor made for nice casual ambiance. More pub than restaurant vibe. But classy. We had a huge booth near the back which made conversation easy. The restaurant is known for... More

Looked around online for a great place for mussels in Montreal, stumbled upon reviews of this place. We missed the All You Can Eat nights (Sun-Wed)... but we ordered a kg and a lb between two people and didn't need more than that. Mussels were cooked perfectly in the sauce, service was great! Get the liter of beer, it's worth... More

This place was recommended by a friend. We were 5 people so we took different kinds of mussels. Great selection of beers. Also had the Onion Soup and the goat cheese salad. It was good. There was a hockey game on and they have multiple televisions in the restaurant. Nice place. Would recommend it especially if you like mussels.

Our B&B suggested this place for All You Can Eat Mussels. We went....we agree! There were 4 of us and we each selected a different kind. Once you select a kind, you cannot change, so that way we had 4 different choices. The waiter/bartender was very helpful as the selection is huge. We enjoyed excellent beer and some of the... More

As tourists, we stopped by on a Sunday for a late lunch. The beer menu impressed/overwhelmed us! We tried beers we'd never heard of. My friends had the bison and venison burgers. I had an order of mussels (moules génoise). All our meals were great. I especially loved the mussels...the best I have had at a restaurant. The sauce for... More

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday with a group of 6 +1 child much earlier than we normally eat (about 5:30) to an empty restaurant save for one couple having drinks. The server took quite some time to come to the table and while he was there had a very hard time making any recommendations for cocktails to one... More

Friends and I went for the all you can eat mussels and the great selection of beer on Tuesday night. They had a wonderful selection of different sauces to choose from and the first round of mussels was approximately 1kg (remember the shells weigh a fair bit) and the second round was about half that. We were stuffed by that... More

I used to go frequently to Bieres et Compagnies, and did not go for 5-6 years while living outside Canada for a while. Came back looking for great beer and eating great mussels ! Found out that the restaurant needed a good cleanup, both on their tables, floors, and also beer menu. I remembered a large offering of draft beer,... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
