We stopped in for a beverage after walking quite a ways. Took a few minutes to get service at the bar, but very friendly and attentive once there. I would recommend going back for a meal.

Had lunch with my wife at the Baton Rouge (Greenfield Park location) to try out their summer special themed menu "Paint the Town Red" which focusses on Lobster. I started with the Lobster Poutine & my wife chose the Mushroom stuffed with lobster. My poutine was good - my only issue is that it could have used a little more... More

Went here for dinner. The food was just about average. The place was very busy with the "Just For Laughs" festival going on alongside. I would not rush back

We went to Restaurant Baton Rouge for lunch. The service was good and the food adequate. There is nothing really special about our experience. They do have outside sidewalk seating which would have been better but it was raining in Montreal most of the time we were there.

This was our least favorite restaurant in Montreal. My Prime Rib, although ordered medium rare, was served at least Medium well; a mistake that should not happen at this price point. The Chicken Finger Salad was mediocre at best. The service was outstanding however, and our server had a big smile and a lot of welcome advice. This restaurant is... More

Had a lunch burger for $18. It was pre-cooked and lukewarm. The meat wasn't fresh. I ordered the burger well done and it was on my table in less than 5 minutes, good you say? Nope, already cooked in advance. Served with lukewarm and soggy French fries as well. Our server was rude and not attentive at all. Nothing good... More

We shared an appetizer which was a spinach dip. As a main, we had the Louisiana chicken: grilled chicken slices and mixed greens with a peanut sauce and crisp oriental noodles. as well as a flavourful and tender New York strip loin, which was delicious. Service was excellent, considering the restaurant was full, with a lineup to boot. Busy time... More

We ate here while walking through the arts plaza of Montreal. It is like a american type diner, with many choices on the menu. Service was ok, food the same. Decent late night snack

I have gone to Baton Rouge, many times. Why, because all the food is delicious. Ribs, they are so good that you lick your fingers. Service is excellent, the place is absolutely beautiful. And very close home, I live in Pointe-Claire and Baton Rouge is in Dollar des Ormeaux, close to the airport. If you come to Montreal, there is... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
