Great Chicken Burrito and Margaritas!

I have been a customer of this restaurant for over 10 years and I have never been disappointed. The decor is almost cafeteria like mexican style! The chicken burritos and the Quesadilla's are some of the best I have had but in Montreal they are the best! The chicken's seasoning is spot on and the... read more

We've been to this small restaurant countless times and we have never been dissapointed. The food is always fresh and delicious. The ambiance is comfortable and down to earth. The prices are also fair. My husband loves their black bean burritos, but my kids and I have ordered many of their meals and have liked them all. In all honesty,... More

Excellent food and service. Everything is good but I keep falling for the Chicken Quesadilla. It is the best in town.

Just a quick stop on a flight layover, asked a local and he said this street is full of good restaurants. Who would have thought there is a great fresh-me place in the foodie center of Montreal?!? We had tasty mojitos and with the chips and the home made salsa bar. The entrees were made to order and served quickly... More

Being tired on a Saturday night, we didn't feel like cooking and went on TripAdvisor to find some recommandations for a Mexican restaurant. We've tried many other Mexican restaurants in Montreal and wanted to try something new. We took a table, and the waitress came to ask if we wanted any drinks, which we received quickly. When came time to... More

This is great mexican place. Food is great, good portions, cheap, and the place looks awesome. It's clean and colorful for a casual place. I went on a Thursday night and it was still busy but good. The raspberry daiquiri's are great. the only negative thing was the churro. Too chewy and hard. Have to try it again. Great place... More

We ate here as a family within the first week of moving to Montreal. Good value, tasty food, not too spicy, generous portions, good choices without being overwhelming. Would recommend to others with no hesitation.

What made this restaurant so exceptional for me was the chicken soup. Just the way they serve it in the best places in Oaxaca, with avocado, etc. One of the managers in our hotel who had been born in Mexico City had recommended the soup, saying it was as good as his mother's! It was truly wonderful. Others in our... More

I live in Montreal and have been eating at La Taqueria Mexicaine for over 10 years. I am a fussy vegetarian and I just love their black bean burrito. My boyfriend has tried every chicken dish and loves them all. The greatest thing is the help yourself hot sauce and salsa bar. The food is fresh the chips are homemade... More

I swear! It is always a quick eat. Super clean. Amazing turnover so the food is always fresh. Easy to get to it. Park behind the park. Seriously, this place has been around for 20 years or so, and the owner Eric knows his stuff. Go there and order anything off the menu and you will love it.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
