I think this was my fifth repeat visit to this restaurant and I don't seem to ever get tired of this amazing place. This time I ordered the smaller tasting menu and we shared a bottle of red wine. The service as usual was great and very attentive. The staff are always knowledgeable and give you a great description of... More

We enjoyed an extraordinary gastronomic meal at Europea. Many restaurants position themselves as epicurean; Europea sets a standard by which others should be judged. Our four meals were delicious. What makes Europea special are the amuse bouches that are served in abundance. These accompaniments are equal parts delicious treats, whimsical presentation, and performance art. There are several degustation menus as... More

What to say? A strangely soulless experience - highly trained staff, but acting like automatons. Ours was an early evening booking and we seemed to be blitzed with info and courses before a more settled rhythm as more diners arrived. Rather like Bang & Olufsson I do wonder if this place is a triumph of style over substance; we had... More

Their tasting menu is a wonderful combination of a wide range of ingredients and flavours, all prepared with great taste and originality. One of the impressive dishes is the "calamari noodle" which showcases a perfect fusion of Asian and western cooking styles in both form and taste. The risotto in beet sauce is another great dish that you seldom have... More

Dear Maurice L, Thank you very much to have come from Vancouver to discover our restaurant and benefit of the ultimate experience at the Chef's Table. As you know we have only 3 tables in front of the kitchen and a reservation is highly recommended. Sincerely Yours, More

Came here with two friends for the most amazing experience. We were either surprised or awed at every step of the evening. We ordered calamar, lobster and riz de veau (yes in one plate) and crab with scallops for starters. They were just fantastic. For mains we had red risotto with shrimps and beets, again superbly executed. In between we... More

Dear indipendente, Thank you very much for your last comment on your visit last June. I am very satisfied to see that for $150 Canadian including taxes and tip you were able to live a beautiful culinary experience. Often people say that we are very expensive and you prove the opposite. Best Regards, More

Most expensive meal I have ever had. More expensive than Mas in New York. All kinds of gimmicks. Food served in a book! Food good but not unbelievable.

Dear David C, Thank you very much for your comment on TripAdvisor even if you think that the experience was expensive. I am surprised that you compare our prices to those of NY. To go there from time to time I can assert that most of the restaurants of our level in Montreal have prices relatively reasonable. Thank you however... More

I have to say " It's worth it". We ordered dishes for dinner, then it came along with entrees, soups and dessert. They all tasted good and looked nice. The environment was very quite. You can visit the kitchen afterward. Waiters are nice and good-looking (LOL). Even though it's pricey, but once a while, it's definitely a great experience.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
