For Egg Lovers

For all Egg Lovers, rejoice. This is the only restaurant in Montreal that dares to call themselves Egg... The menu is excellent, with over 10-15 breakfast items (served all day) served with Eggs. Otherwise you still have a great selection of Pasta, Burger, Steak.... who cares... read more

Had breakfast here while staying at the Ritz and glad we did. Fun vibe inside - industrial, rustic country. Best pancakes ever. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the waiter was fun & friendly.

Visited on a snowy day in Montreal. Restaurant was busy, service was good. Ordered the Eggstravanga Crepe, was really good, really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the All American, and that was average, so I would not recommend. Just your regular eggs and bacon, sausage. The bacon looked burn. Still like the brand and will be back again.

I was just there today with a large group. The place is not as big as their branch in downtown and the ambiance not as appealing. The waiter was kind of overwhelmed, I guess, yet amiable and pleasant. If you want to try Eggspectation for the first time, I recommend the downtown branch.

My wife and I are walking around Montreal on a very cold day. We popped in for a nice breakfast and were not disappointed. From the warm greeting, to fast friendly server (thanks Rob), it was exactly what we expected. Big portions of wonderful food. This is a go-to place for us when we're in town.

That's how my wife described our meal. This is a better IHOP for those familiar with the US chain. It reminded me of Wildberry in Chicago. Tons of creative choices, and perfectly adequately constructed. Ingredients were not amazing, but food was tasty. Overall it was a good value. I'd probably prefer a local place that wasn't a chain, but I'd... More

PROS: Great eggs Benedict, sizeable menu to choose from, well priced, staff were capable CONS: Busy so service wasn't at its fastest (they were probably understaffed), seats not very comfy Not much was open on new year's day 2015, but everyone seemed to know about Eggspectation downtown Montreal: it was packed with people and took a short wait to get... We found this restaurant on the second day of our trip and ate here every day thereafter, it was so good! There are only two of us, but we eat a lot so we were able to sample quite a lot of the menu with our frequent visits. Not once did we have a bad meal, menu item or service... More

This place is a slightly upscale establishment for breakfast. This is not fast food and not a $70 hotel breakfast but is somewhere in between. The choices are endless and are all fantastic. The Greek yogurt smoothies are just what the doctor ordered and are large enough to share. Many versions of Benedict are available, my personal favorite is the... More

We ate here most mornings during our last vacation. Good was great, service is fast and prices reasonable. My favorite is the classic, eggs, sausage, lyonnaise potatoes, baked beans.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
