Very good food!

Extensive breakfast menu, very busy place but good service. we stayed at the Hyatt and this is much better for breakfast for choice and price to eat at Eggspectation.

On a morning walk we discovered Eggspectation, great diverse menu for breakfast and lunch. Wished we had discovered this place earlier in the week as there many menu items we wanted to still try. Unique dishes with Avocados and Eggs !!!

Went for breakfast expecting something fabulous since the menu is so extensive. My eggs were cold! I mean very cold! I'm not sure Eggs Benedict can manage to be cold but it was. My husband said his eggs were just luke warm. Also, I had to constantly ask for coffee. To top it off ofc the bathrooms were nasty

In one word - "egg-travaganza!" Eggspectation" has a wide and varied range of "egg"citing and "egg"treamly fun egg based cuisine. It is located "Eggs"actly in the yolk of the "egg"citement of the com"egg"y festival, the staff are friendly and the food is "egg"cellent!

Extremely convenient location, very close to Notre Dame. Ample seating, great service. I was standing outside checking out the paper menu in the window, and someone came out to offer me the actual menu to look at. I was actually doing very well practicing my French! I could make out 75% of everything -- very proud! We were seated promptly... More

Visited Montreal with my girlfriend for a few days and saw this gem in the heart of downtown Montreal. Very nice bilingual staff, the theme was french-homestyle, but the seating was a little too crowded for me. We were seated approximately 1 foot from another table. Our server was very attentive and came by a few times to check up... More

My husband and I decided to give this restaurant a try for lunch while walking through Old Montreal. We waited about 10 minutes before being offered a drink from our waiter. The place was pretty busy at the time. For emphasizing breakfast meals at a restaurant, we found our salads quite delicious. Overall, we were pretty impressed with the food... More

Eggspectations is a great breakfast restaurant! The lobster omelet is full of "real" lobster and a good serving size. One draw back I experienced both times I ate there is the food was not hot when it arrived.

Had the Californian salad. Very little Chicken and overcooked. Dressing not on side. Salad was drenched in dressing. Very little avocado. Beer was 7.95.

The food was acceptable but very heavy and rich. The homemade hash browns were not very good, definitely not the experience the menu claimed we would have. They were soggy and lacked flavour. The price and wait time for our meal was incongruent with the quality of the food and service we received. We will not return next visit. Too... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
