Salvation for hungry travellers

Having arrived in Montreal the previous night and gone straight to our hotel, we awoke jet lagged and ravenous. Consulting the internet, we liked the look and sound of this place, so set out for our first adventure at a very reasonable (to us) 8am, or lunch time on UK time... We were greeted... read more

Food was average breakfast that you'd get anywhere. I had the Eggs Benedict -- they arrived slightly warm because they were left sitting for awhile before they got to the table (I saw them go up and figured they were mine so I knew how long they sat there). The English muffin was day-old and chewy. I asked for potatoes... More

My wife and I had an enjoyable breakfast at eggspectiation. The food was generous in portion and had great taste. Everything was prepared to order. The waitress tolerated my halting French and responded in French when I tried to speak. She easily switched to English when I ran out of French words. Service was quick and simple. I will return.

The food is great and the menu is extensive! The breakfast is a typical All-American breakfast- eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, fruit, etc. Nothing particularly "special" about this place, however. I would not say it's a "must see"- but it is definitely a solid choice for breakfast and is priced well for what you get.

We had finished seeing Notre Dame and we're ready to sit and have a good meal . This was the perfect place. They have the best fresh fruit beautifully presented. My cousins had an omlete and eggs benedict. I had a basic fried egg with fruit potatoes and toast. We couldn't eat it all and that was a disappointment since... More

Delicious egg dishes, potatoes and fresh squeezed juice. Our servers were very friendly and it was super convenient from the Hyatt.

Was informed that this was a not to be missed place for breakfast. I could have missed it and the trip would have been fine. The food was good but not over the top and the prices were on the high side. Another over egg-ageration of Montreal.

Very nice restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Service was very good and there was a pretty good assortment of food choices on the menu compared to other restaurants we visited in Montreal. You can get everthing from steak sandwiches and pasta to waffles, omlettes, and pancakes.

Egg-celent breakfast. Something for everyone especially a large family whether eggs, pancakes or waffles. Good service. Good location to start the day sightseeing in Old Montreal. Less expensive than the hotel restaurant. This restaurant met our eggspectations!

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
