Definitely worth a visit

Had a business dinner last week with 10 colleagues. Really nice ambience, very good food. The service was top notch and we got photos with Emma in the kitchen.

We have wanted to visit this wonderful restaurant after seeing it featured years ago on Rachel Ray. It definitely did not lt us down! The service was amazing as was all the food tastes. The bruschetta was just perfect and the minestrone soup one of the best we have ever tasted.. We would certainly revisit if we are in Montreal... More

Da Emma is a culinary experience not to be missed. Montreal is blessed with a surplus of great dining experiences but, in my opinion, Da Emma tops them all. Five of us visited Da Emma on Friday, June 26 for dinner after calling ahead for a reservation. The restaurant is located near the Old Port in the basement of what... More

Had dinner at Da Emma on Friday night, party of 4. 3 of us had the swordfish and the 4th had lamb. Started with a smoked salmon salad with arugula. The food was amazing! Service was great. If I had a complaint it would only be that it is a very very busy restaurant and a bit hard to talk... More

The setting is beautiful, I had a very romantic and amazing dinner here. They carry good wines which makes dinner even more perfect if possible. The waiter was kind enough to help us pair the perfect wine for our delicious steak. The quality of the food is great and even the dessert was fantastic. I would totally recommend this place,... The atmosphere was really cool. We had a terrible waiter that had no interest in explaining the menu. The food was very oily and not much taste. VERY expensive

This is a really awesome atmosphere, and it's certainly real deal italian food. Highly recommend the tiramisu, the veal ravioli and the bruschetta! Prices are pretty high but portions are generous! Suggest sharing an appetizer as they are quite big (especially the prosciutto and mozarella). Excellent wine menu and great service!

Unique setting, cave-like feel. Ladies, it was a bit cold, bring a jacket or a shall to cover up if you are the cold type. We shared a beautiful meal among family at Da Emma a 2 weeks ago. Our waiter Marco was exceptional. He was very attentive, courteous and made the time fly. Our meal main dish was excellent.... More

This restaurant is in a former women's prison so the setting is very different. It's on the pricey side, but not outrageous. If you're looking for a unique restaurant with good food, especially italian, give this place a try. This restaurant is very popular with celebrities and there is a wall of polaroids of just about every celebrity you can... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
