I have been living in Montreal for 15 years so I consider myself a local. This restaurant has the best location in the tourist trap hot spot in the city. Most of my friends seldom go to that part of town to eat, as there is no value. I only go there on a company Christmas party. This restaurant is... More

I am a tour operator who is very careful to choose a restaurant that I would dine at personally. The restaurants must be local, genuine, have good food and service. Chez Queux is all of that and more. The ambience makes me feel like I am in the middle of France. The food is well presented, delicious, and service exceptional.... More

Had a wonderful meal in this historic restaurant. The inside is like an old castle and very elegant. The food was very tasty and the presentation was part of the fun! The Caesar salad was prepared from scratch table side. Try the crime bulee for dessert. It is the best I have had - light, fluffy, with a hint or... More

food is good but the waiters have an attitude. When you go to a restaurant like this you go for the experience, it is quite expensive. What you don't need is a snooty waiter. Lets hope someone else visit doesn't have the same experience

Chez Queux delivers as an old school French Restraunt. The price fixed menu may be the best deal in town- given the quality of the food. I recommend if you are on a budget yet still wish to experience old montreal.

I went to this restaurant twice. The first time, I wasn't impressed. I waited a couple of years to venture it again, and again, I thought it was bland and expensive. If you're looking for a place to have a fun night out with friends and with good, reasonably priced food, do not go to Chez Queux.

It had been more than 10 years since my last visit to Chez Queux and it continues to be one best dining experiences in Montreal. The restaurant oozes old world charm and the wait staff was equally charming and attentive. The wine list - predominantly French - was reasonably priced and the entrees were all excellent. The steak tartar was... More

The food and service was outstanding, our waiter Léon even took the time to chop my elderly mother's salad for her. The Steak aux poivres was superb and the Shrimp au Cognac divine. You are fed and treated like royalty. Atmosphere extraordinaire.

We decided to go Chez Queux to try a new French restaurant (to us) and we were not disappointed. We loved the old world charm of the place. The service was excellent, our waiter was funny, attentive and he topped up my wine! The traditional French food was great. We will definitely go back!

This charming restaurant in the historic part of Montreal is one of the few traditional French restaurants who survived since the 70s. After 40 years Chez Queux remains true to form! You are sure to find the perfect wine to accompany your meal in their award-winning wine list. They have a sommelier on site to suggest the wine that will... More
