By 9 o'clock in the morning, it's good time for a buckwheat crepe and/or whole wheat breakfast crepe along with a good cup of coffee. La Crêperie du Marché belongs to the family Good-Food-Street. Lunchtime offers a choice of garnished crepes along with fresh juices and fresh ciders, and at any hour of the day, all our sweet and savoury crepes will satisfy your cravings, either on site at the counter, at our tables, to eat on the go, or to take back home.La Crêperie du Marché offers you the added value of mixing the Breton and French cultures... an invitation to travel, to discover... thanks to the expertise of our passionate crepe makers. All savoury crepes (buckwheat served thin and crispy) and sweet crepes (all wheat served soft cooked) are prepared on site, using our traditional recipes and using only products from Quebec, those of our artisan producers (milk, flour, cheese, egg, pork, smoked salmon, etc.).The toppings are freshly prepared on site with fruit and vegetables gathered daily at the market on the day. It is also the case with our bechamel sauce, our house salted butter caramel, and our house chocolate, which are the delight of our loyal customers! Our products are, for the most part, certified organic, or they come from producers concerned about healthy a nature and a clean environment, as are we. This is why, for example, our utensils, plates and cups are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

The Creperie du Marche is a wonderful place for lunch. There are many choices and the chef makes your meal while you wait. It is fun to watch and so fresh! Wonderful!

In Jean-Talon Market in Montreal you'll find this crepe stand. The smell of freshly made crepes is the first clue that something good is happening - a bit like a bakery but with a little sweetness as well. There are both savoury and sweet crepes, made to order. The crepes themselves are made with buckwheat flour so they are crispy... More

We've stumbled upon this place at the Jean Tallon market. The crepes are delicious, healthy and you leave feeling surprisingly light. Highly recommend this little piece of "Healthy desert" Heaven!!!

Every time we go to the market, a stop at the Creperie is a must ! the crepes are thin, not greasy , the ham and eggs are really good choice for a breakfast. It is a healthy way to start your day. The owner is paying attention to the details and I am very happy that could also offer... More

The smell of freshly-made crepes is irresistible as it wafts through the air as you walk around the Jean-Talon Market. It is no wonder most visitors end up at the creperie after shopping. You have the choice if savory and sweet crepes here. The maple syrup and apples crepes was quite good (if not a little filling).

They offer savory and sweet crepes; the savory are more expensive but make a great breakfast. I ordered the ham/cheese/apple and was very happy (comes with maple syrup). I wish it was maybe a few dollars less but I think the ingredients are all fresh and the crepes are gluten free, so I guess that is to be expected. We... More

The Jean Talon is a great spot for tourists. I visited here years ago when I was researching ways of making community-based settings for fresh and local food affordable, which isn't usually the case with farmers markets elsewhere in North America. (Some of my findings are published in my e-book, Food for City Building) Back on a holiday, I was... More

This crowded little spot made for a wonderful brunch! They had both sweet and savory crepes. Best of all, they were gluten free! I don't have celiac disease but I find that avoiding gluten does cut down on my skin allergies, so I was ecstatic to be able to indulge! The crepes are made with buckwheat (naturally gluten free!) so... More

It's just a simple crepe stand in Montreal's Jean Talon market, in the little Italy district, but all the crepes are made with buckwheat, totally and naturally gluten-free!!! My husband and I split a ham, egg and spinach one, and a ham, apple and maple syrup one....sheer bliss. We only managed to get to the Marche Jean Talon on our... More

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighborhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
