this place has been a favorite of mine for years now. the food is incredibly good and very authentic (which is why it tastes different and better than most other sushi i ever had). the hot cooked dishes are as good as the sushi and i recommend trying a variety of things from the menu. the service can be slow,... The reviews for Bistro Furusato are generally gushing and extravagant. But I don't get it. This place is waaaaay below average. In fact, it is probably the poorest sushi restaurant I have yet ate at in Montreal. I went with my son and his girlfriend. The best dish we had was a sizzling beef platter, which was quite tasty if... More

Out of all the sushi places that I have tried in Montreal, the sushi here tops them all (so far!). The rolls here are HUGE, simple (and not Americanized.. thank god), and the rice is always perfectly cooked. You can easily get super full after only eating 11-12 pieces of sushi, and they have a bunch of other authentic Japanese... More

This place was highly recommended by "sushi experts", and the sushi did not disappoint. Busy on a Saturday night and reservations are needed. Small staff that slowed things down a bit, but the food was worth it.

The sushi was very good. Though in the California roll the cucumber was very dominate. Service was a bit slow? But there were only two servers since it is a smal place. Overall, I was satisfied with the food and the service. Would definitely return!

The location was abit hard to find, but when we entered, it felt like a welcoming place. I think all the staffs were Japanese. The service is really efficient with politeness. We ordered seaweed salad, salmon steak and Tonkatsu, and two sushi for testing this restaurant being authentic or not. We were pretty satisfied because the flavor was the same... More

Ok disclaimer is I eat sushi and Japanese in Vancouver which can't be beat for freshness, low cost and originality .. but my experience at this restaurant was nothing short of awful .. looking at all the great reviews I am puzzled ... I had the sushi/sashimi combination which was a whopping $ 27 - and a Japanese beer, equally... More

Service was soo slow, grilled squid was horrible and tasted like rubber and sushi was over priced. Would not eat here again.
