Mirchi Restaurant - Very Good Food, but...

The food was delicious and the staff was nice. Although this restaurant is in the Old Port, I felt the price was a little high. The portions were smaller than what I am used to in an Indian Restaurant. Although dessert was listed on the menu, it was not offered. The waiter was nice and answered... read more

went for a lunch menu, they were not busy as they had just opened, placed my order then you could here the microwave dinging a terrible meal and the side veg was still cold and the main tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for too long, keep away, yet there were three staff sitting around doing nothing.

I am an Indian from India and had the chance to eat there couple of times.. Nothing like Indian food. Way too spicy and some dishes way too sweet. Tnadoori chicken was bad. On the whole tasteless food. Would definitely not recommend this place for authentic Indian food. Service: The place is manned by bangladeshis, who were quite friendly and... More

My wife and I had dinner in this small restaurant on the periphery of Old Montreal on a Wednesday evening. The food was good; enough spice to be zesty but not overpowering. We will probably eat there again when we are in the neighbourhood. The service was not up to the standard of the kitchen. Even though the restaurant was... More

Went there for a business lunch and we were quite impressed with the place. We ordered many dishes, as we wanted to sample; classics such as butter chicken and lamb korma, amongst others. We were not disappointed - the sauces were delicate yet had personality. And the service was excellent.

We were 5 for the evening of the 16th May 2015 with 3 adults and 2 kids. The place is quite small and not many customers were there when we were there. We have ordered the food and had to wait for a long time to have it brought to our table. The butter chicken we ordered was taste less... More

My partner and I came upon this restaurant quite by accident after leaving the nearby history museum. What a happy discovery. The service was great and the food excellent. I've eaten at uncountable Indian restaurants over the decades and this one is easily in my top five.

I was in town visiting friends and I was taken here for a late lunch. The service was quite good and the Indian food was delicious. My friend ordered the food so I have no idea what the dishes were called but none of them disappointed. I will definitely return should I be in the area again.

We were 7 for the evening of the 31st december 2014. 4 adults and 3 childs. It was entirely full by 19h30. The place is quite small and so are the places to eat. More than 40 inch of belly could be annoying. Food is nice and represent well Indian food. A bit warmer would had been welcome. Since we... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
