Fantastic mid-eastern food in Le Plateau, Montreal. The meat was beautifully cooked on the open grill, the salads were fresh and really taste and the overall experience was very enjoyable. Lots of people also pop in to takeaway. If you want something tasty, fresh and a bit different to what you might be used then try out Omnivore.

Everything was extremely fresh and tasty. The meat was great and the salads wonderful! They are very concious of food intolerances and I had no rpoblem digesting their wonderful food.

I've been coming here for about 2 yrs now. This is the type of place that makes me enjoy Montreal food scene. Small, affordable, quality ethnic restaurant that everyone can enjoy. You will come back to savour original menu choices (best orso salad and bacon jam in the universe) and friendly service without being too corny! Small con: a bit... More

I had the Carnivore, a Libanese dish filled with beef, chicken, lentils, rice, hummus and sour cream and man it was amazing. The lemonade also was really good. I asked the grill man (owner?) about The original of the food and he was kind enough to take me all over the middle easy telling me about the origin. Staff was... More

Outstanding kabobs, with nice spicing, both chicken and beef. Really unique and interesting salads, not your standard three. A selection of more than 7 or so. Offer numerous vegetarian options.Child friendly and a casual neighborhood hangout. Cash only, with friendly staff. Try it!

Location: On the Main. Street parking only. The place: It's tiny and for reasons unbeknownst to myself, it reminded me of a jungle shack. Have I ever been to the jungle, you ask? No I have not but I'm sure that's what a jungle shack would look like. Very cozy with lots of warm brown colors. Also, the smell. Nom... More

The service is very slow but....... I had the Inca Chicken wrap version and my girlfriend had the Arez Grilled veggie wrap. They grill the entire sandwhich. The food is excellent. The restaurant is small and hot. The park across the street is open, breezy and shady. This is really worth going to. The food is top quality. Ignore the... More

Great place for both veggie and meat options. The veg is colorful and fun to the palate- lots of eastern Mediterranean spices & flavors. Their kaftas take a little time to grill but its worth it because when they come your way, they're hot and fresh. This is not the type of place you go to, to sit down and... More

A beautiful mix of inexpensive Mediterranean food in an almost perfect location. This is a very unassuming quaint restaurant offering some of the most exquisitely composed mix of flavors in a simple yet effective presentation. The owner is there daily for quality control and keeps the staff upbeat and on their game. Thanks for so many wonderful food experiences. Cheap... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
