Great espresso

We stopped by here on a couple of occasions when visiting the bike shop next door and had espresso. Nice window seats with a view of the park. The staff kept the shop very clean despite the fact they were busy each time we were there.

Fantastic coffee and cool magazines to enjoy and relax with. Baristas knew threat coffee and the place was atmospheric but not noisy.

Quaint little coffee shop. It was recommended to us by the folks at Fitz & Fowell (bike shop next door). PS The cookies are delish :)

So much thought has gone into this place and you can tell as soon as you walk in. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable/passionate about their brew. The best cappuccino hands down, take it to go (great location) or sit in and read some mags. No laptops on the weekend, feels good to sit in a coffeeshop where you can... More

When I walked in here, I saw a row of apple computers with human faces behind them and mugs of coffee beside them. One weirdo was reading a book. Delta blues music is being played. A server with a full regalia of tattoos shows me the choices, which include fig and cheese sandwich. This place is interesting, after all. My... More

The iced coffee here is a must in the summer. I often stop at Cafe Plume when Im biking in the area during the summer and need a refreshing drink. The terrace makes it extra-enjoyable. Not to mention the friendly owner who is not shy to strike up a conversation :)

Cafe Plume has great music and decent fare, and they always have great artwork and cool magazines displayed at the back. I'm not crazy about working there on my laptop as it is always CRAMMED during the week, and on the weekend you can only work on your laptop on the little ledge at the window. It's a nice place... This place has signs reminiscient of a an airport security checkpoint posted all over the place, 'forbidding' laptops at tables. They will also rudely tell you to leave if your rate of consumption isn't sufficient for them. That might work in Toronto or wherever the owners of this place are from, but it doesn't work here in Montreal. As for... More

If you're near strolling along Mont Royal near St Urbaine - be sure to stop for a hot/iced coffee from this place. It's exactly the type of place you'd want to get your neighbourhood coffee from. They even take the extra time to make your hot espresso drink have the fancy artwork on top. It just means that they put... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
