It is worth the experience!

Went there with my wife and another couple on a Thursday night with high expectations about this place since we are huge fans of the owner’s other restaurants (Le Club Chasse et Pêche and Le Serpent). Once a year we visit my wife's hometown of Montreal. This week we dined first at Maison Boulud, then Toque, and finally Le Filet, all considered amongst the very top restaurants in the city. Le Filet was the best. 'Nuff said.

The food is VERY GOOD!!! the restaurant is not too big, trendy, staff is attentive, honest when suggesting as how many plates should be ordered kind of on the loud side but definitely should not stop you from trying it when visiting Montreal. You must book a month in advance to have the time that you wish to. The combination... More

Visited the restaurant le Filet last night. We were a bit jammed for time, going to see a play. The staff was very attentive, giving detailed descriptions of the dishes on the menu and suggesting their favourites. My mother and I started with the 6-pack of miso oysters. Au gratin, these little packets of deliciousness were extremely tasty. For the... More

Three sets of menu items -- each item meant to be shared around the table. We had delicious hamachi, black squid linguini, scallops, salmon, cod and other dishes. Very good service. The waiter made very good recommendations.

I arrived here with my family for my birthday. The service was appallingly bad. First, I asked to sit at a table that was farther from the blaring speaker. No. I could not sit there. They sat me right under the blaring speaker. I loathe blasting music when I am at a restaurant. The waiter saw my face and turned... More

We've eaten here twice, both times as tourists. The food is very unique with creative pairings. The first time we went in Aug 13 was better than in Aug 14, where we found the food more staid.

I don't usually lead off with cosmetics, but have to here because Le Filet's modern interior design is the most beautiful I've seen in any Montreal restaurant. And does it ever attract the beautiful people—on my Friday-night visit, all the other guests were so well dressed and attractive that one could be forgiven for suspecting they were models hired for... What an incredible restaurant with amazing food. All portions are shareable which makes it interesting to discover as many as possible. The oysters are definitely a must and are offered raw or with a miso gratin. Also really enjoyed the scallops and the octopus. Ended with the delicious boileau venison with gnocci, blue cheese and almonds. This is a very... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
