Sooo sooo happy I tried it again!

The service, the cocktails- the food- just great-from Hamachi, tuna tartare appetizers to mushroom risotto second course to a delightful duck magret presentation- all in all outstanding!

We had a wonderful meal with a friend I've known for 50 years! The service was prompt and attentive. The food was original and delicious. I enjoyed the cod, and my husband had venison. I also enjoyed the vegetables with fiddleheads. They paid attention to our dietary needs. The wine was perfectly paired. Overall a delightful experience.

Having read an excellent review in our local newspaper. We booked a table for my husband's very special anniversary. Knowing of the "Club Chasse et Pêche" reputation, our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. Starting with the wonderful greeting from the maître d' to the attentive waiter and the smiling staff, our evening started well. Three plates as starters:... More

Had a fantastic dinner with my wife and another couple. We were seated on the terrace in front of the restaurant. While the inside of the restaurant was quite loud, the outdoor terrace was perfect. After a few drinks, and informing the waiter of some dietary restrictions, we opted to trust our waiter and let the chef design a meal... More

Excellent food, creative menu with interesting flavor combinations--every bite was complex but in the greatest way possible, in that you just wanted more and more. Nothing was heavy handed. The progression of the meal was very slow however it seemed helpful bc we wanted to to sit and dissect the plates afterwards.

Tables for 2 are an issue at Le Filet. When you reserve they make sure you know that they would seat you at the counter, the table or the terrace outside. You could say what you wish but they will not say yes to the harder to come by tables. So when you need to have a private chat, like... More

Went there with my wife and another couple on a Thursday night with high expectations about this place since we are huge fans of the owner’s other restaurants (Le Club Chasse et Pêche and Le Serpent). First, the restaurant is well decorated and had a pretty great vibe despite the fact that the location is a bit odd considering the... More

Once a year we visit my wife's hometown of Montreal. This week we dined first at Maison Boulud, then Toque, and finally Le Filet, all considered amongst the very top restaurants in the city. Le Filet was the best. 'Nuff said.

The food is VERY GOOD!!! the restaurant is not too big, trendy, staff is attentive, honest when suggesting as how many plates should be ordered kind of on the loud side but definitely should not stop you from trying it when visiting Montreal. You must book a month in advance to have the time that you wish to. The combination... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
