Culinary wizardry!

The ambience is fine (if a bit evocative of NYC 90s chic). The men and women of the waitstaff are uniformly young and attractive, providing unpretentious professional service. Chef Yasu Okazaki is brilliant in his refined and subtle use of textures and novel flavor combinations. The sharing of 5... read more

My wife and I dined here on a two-day getaway to Montreal. It was the highlight of our trip. We're from New York City and demanding about restaurants--this is easily in the top 10 we've ever been to anywhere. The decor is fashion-forward elegant, with funky dark bubble light fixtures and a warm, comfortable, inviting ambience. The service is exquisitely good,... More

Wow, really impressed with this place. Service was top notched and the food was amazing. From the first "Warm Up" course of miso-glazed oysters, then scallop beet salad, Tuna tartar, followed by mushroom risotto, grilled squid and then salmon. Ending with a bang with the signature maple dessert. These Japanese infused dishes really highlight all your culinary senses. One of... More

Me and my girlfriend really loved our experience and are planning to go back! Service is perfect! Food is delicious and beautiful presentations. They have a gluten-free menu which is a must for me. Would recommend. A bit pricey but totally worth it!

We were a group and we all loved the food. However it is pretty expensive for the portion you get. They are really small portions!!! I am happy i tried it but i'm not sure that i'll go back!

Our last night in Montreal brought my boyfriend and I back into the Plateau neighborhood. We sat at the bar and took in a modern looking dining room with an exposed open kitchen in the back. The front of the restaurant had big glass windows that opened on to the park, though for whatever reason, a wait station was prominently... More

The service, the cocktails- the food- just great-from Hamachi, tuna tartare appetizers to mushroom risotto second course to a delightful duck magret presentation- all in all outstanding!

We had a wonderful meal with a friend I've known for 50 years! The service was prompt and attentive. The food was original and delicious. I enjoyed the cod, and my husband had venison. I also enjoyed the vegetables with fiddleheads. They paid attention to our dietary needs. The wine was perfectly paired. Overall a delightful experience.

Having read an excellent review in our local newspaper. We booked a table for my husband's very special anniversary. Knowing of the "Club Chasse et Pêche" reputation, our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. Starting with the wonderful greeting from the maître d' to the attentive waiter and the smiling staff, our evening started well. Three plates as starters:... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
