Was good but lacked service a bit

Great food but just ok service. They messed up my meal so we had to wait until they cooked again . I really loved the vintage table tops! They were very cool..

No question the best Smoked Meat in Montreal. Love the atmosphere and service is always fast and very friendly. Their cheese cake is also fables. Couple of times I tried other dishes and they were very good, but I am addicted toDunn's Smoked meat!

First place to eat once we arrived in the city. Great atmosphere and the service was good too. Must have the smoked meat medium or else it's a waste.

I dont know what the hype was all about. It was just average. Service was slow and the food was greasy. Cheap drinks were appreciated though! I liked the smoked meat fried rice but everything else left much to be desired.

Overall pleasant experience on the terrace of this restaurant. Service was exceptional - quick, pro-active, and friendly - though this may just be because I'm French and used to waiters spitting in my soup. Food was OK though not the best salt beef sandwich I've ever had. Would go back but not seek it out.

Mmm, what do you want when in Montreal? Smoked meat and poutine, and that's just what we got! Two days in a row! Add some fabulous sangria to the mix and you had two happy voyagers.

Recently ate here at night with my family. Their smoked meat sandwiches are huge and the portions of fries in addition to the coleslaw and a pickle make this a great restaurant for those on a budget. I left there feeling happy and full, and would definitely return on a future visit to downtown Montreal for the city's famous smoked... More

A colleague said we had to eat here because they've been around for so long. Everyone in our group ordered the smoked meat sandwich and a Rickard's Red beer on tap. The beer was wonderful. Very smooth. The smoked meat was the most tender brisket I have ever eaten. I plan to go back before I leave town.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
