More Venti please!

This place is run by people who know food and restaurant. The menus, the service and the ambiance are 3 high points for Venti. I have been there for lunch several times and each one of them was in different occasion and we could experience the food according to our desires. So they are flexible and... read more

Okay, I had my share of Montreal deli and was really itching for some good Italian fare. My business colleague suggested Venti and I'm sure glad he did! The interior is pretty basic, but don't let that fool you. Each dish is prepared with care and using the freshest ingredients. There were a few of us so we shared the... More

Usually you avoid Italian restaurants because their menu is always a copy paste from the last one you have visited but Venti, is a true surprise, the Italian food there is from the Italian regions so you can get unexpected recipe you were not even aware it exist, except if you are a fan and you already have the bible... My husband and I had a nice experience. The waiter was very attentive and even created a non-alcoholic cocktail, because I was pregnant. The food was all very well portioned. Not too much or too little of anything. We both had pasta since it was homemade, and found both dishes to be very different, and very delicious. My only criticism... More

There are a few more places to choose from in the old port but if you're bored of steak and frites, the menu has other things to eat!

This looks like a great little Italian but although the menu looks interesting the food is disappointing. I had sucking pig, which was literally too salty to eat. The waiter asked if everything was Ok when he picked up the plates and I mentioned the saltiness - he replied 'oh' and that was it. My wife had sea bass and... More

I visited Venti twice for lunch and while the service was nice and relatively fast for busy lunch time, the food is nothing more than ordinary. The first time around, I've ordered a meat sauce ragu and the soup of the day though I don't remember exactly what kind it was. When I tasted the soup, it was pretty good,... More

Tuesday lunch time and a glorious selection of hand made fresh Italian cooking. I had the buckwheat pasta with gorgonzola, pistachio and fig, and it was delicious. Add a simple glass of white one, and it's a beautiful combination. Keep in mind the wait time is slighlty longer than average, as everything is made from scratch, and nothing is pre-prepped.... We had dinner here with friends after a day at the wine festival. I had reserved a month in advance (beware, they ask for your credit card and will charge 50$/person if you do not cancel your reservation, so call if you need to cancel). the first we were told is that we had 2 hours for dinner. I hate... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
