Small place with great food and service

We went there with our teenage kids. Every one was super pleased by their selection. The oysters were so good with the side sauces that we order 3times !!!! All dishes are served in good portions, drinks and wines are priced ok. Looking forward to go back on our next trip to Montreal !

Our warm and friendly greeting only paved the way for what was a thoroughly enjoyable and delicious meal. Clearly the staff work as a team and it shows in how attentive they are to each customer. Service was prompt and there was little lag time after ordering. The food itself used many seasonal & local ingredients, and both dishes were... More

One of the best restaurant experiences we've had in Montreal, and in our travels as well. From the warm greeting upon arrival all the way through to the exquisite wine pairing to go with our sumptuous meal, the team at Tuck Shop made our evening an exceptional experience. Some of the best oysters we've ever had preceded our generous and... More

I visit Montreal half a dozen times a year and am always in search of a great restaurant, but as I have written in these pages often, I am regularly disappointed. That is not the case at Tuck Shop, it is one of the most creative and tasty meals I have ever had in Montreal. The restaurant is small so... More

Great food, lots of specials, very fresh. Love the suggestion to share some of the main courses. Salmon tartar, and Hunger steak with fries cooked in duck fat. Super delicious. For sure a repeat.

Celebrated my son's birthday with friends at the Tuck Shop. Great food, wonderful "Montreal" vibrant atmosphere. Drinks are a bit pricey. If you are looking at keeping your budget in check, don't order alcohol.. Food was excellent. Priced well for the quality and portions. I had the roasted duck and squash soup . Not your typical soup, made with coconut... More

Location is cozy and eclectic. What stood out most was the service. The manager was incredibly welcoming and he offered plenty of advice and recommendations (not just on our meal but also about where to eat during the rest of the trip). Enjoyed the nice mix of different flavors throughout three courses. Portions were generous. Had read a lot of... More

The tuck shop is a small, trendy and casual restaurant in a part of town that may be heading towards trendy but has not yet arrived. That said, it is more than worth being a little more adventurous. The open kitchen concept and small floor space makes for a cozy and friendly setting. For those who like to watch the... More

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighborhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialized Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
