We visited this restaurant in July of 2014 and it was off the charts great. One of our favorite Montreal meals. We were excited to visit again July 2015. I've had the salmon there twice and can say both times it has been outstanding. The rest of the dinner on this trip was very good, but not amazing like in... More

This place rocks! Food is excellent, everything is fresh and local. Always a good cellar of private import wines. Who would ever recommend a salad, but I must say the freshness and ingredients used in my market salad would tell you don't pass it up as a regular run of the mill salad, this one is worth it. Had the... More

It's been a while that I've been wanting to try this local gem out. Their service is top notch, it's great to feel pampered and enjoy the new style elegance. I thoroughly enjoyed all my dishes, pork belly gouda, cornish hen and brownie. Wish I left room for lots of local cheese choices...next time! Bravo team.

Montréal is one of the best restaurant cities in North America, but the Tuck Shop still stands out amongst the stiff competition. The room is small, very romantic and reservations are a must. The food, wine list and staff are all wonderful.

OK so we didn't discover it but....... we had just landed in the city and checked into our condo and went looking for a restaurant. While sanding outside of this restaurant I checked it on trip advisor and it had a high rating with great reviews. As busy as it was we got in right away and we're blown away... More

I went here with a group of 9 people, the seasonal menu was great and the food was all excellent, everyone was happy with the starters and mains they ordered and said it was the best restaurant they had visited in Montreal. The only complaint is that the service was very slow but looking at the other reviews I believe... More

Have been spoiled by Joe Beef and it's sister restaurants in recent months, and when a friend told me they had one of their best meals ever at the Tuck Shop....well, I was hopeful but skeptical. Am happy to report that they may be right in their assessment. I found it similar in style to Joe Beef (relaxed, casual, funky... More

Our evening at Tuck Shop was probably the singular best experience I've ever had in a restaurant when considering the service, food quality, restaurant design, and value for price. All staff were pleasant, well-versed in the menu, and able to make great drink recommendations for our meal choices. The restaurant itself is cozy but not claustrophobic, and has great energy.... We went there with our teenage kids. Every one was super pleased by their selection. The oysters were so good with the side sauces that we order 3times !!!! All dishes are served in good portions, drinks and wines are priced ok. Looking forward to go back on our next trip to Montreal !

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighborhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialized Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
