Deliciously plated and even better than it looks, the food at Bouillon Bilk is classy without pretention, with each bite designed to be better than the last. The interior is simplistic without being boring, the waitstaff attentive without being saccharine or overbearing. But the food is the real star-- as it should be! We started with delicious cocktails and moved... More

Main course was 5/5. Absolutely delicious. The flavor combinations were amazing. Dessert: 4/5 clever ingredients but my peach upside down cake was slightly dry. Ambience: 5/5 really non pretentious and upscale. Service: 4/5 wait staff was friendly and knowledgable. The descriptions of the food made me want everything. But they seemed understaffed.

The meal here was exquisite and memorable!!. The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside, and it's location will surprise you. The wait staff was very friendly, courteous, and so professional. Every entrée item was described to us in full detail. The menu is very selective. The food is prepared in a creative and highly gourmet format. I loved the... More

My family travels to Montreal a few times a year to enjoy the many wonderful restaurants, shops and markets. This past week we had the pleasure of dining at Bouillon Bilk. My husband and I had dinner at the bar. We had an amazing experience - from the perfect wine (Saint Aubin) chosen by the lovely Sommelier to the delicious... More

I passed by this restaurant just before noon and went in without a reservation. No problem for a solo diner and was seated at the window with a good view of the street outside. Within half an hour the place was filled. The foie gras starter was very well-composed. For the main I had the duck, which was very tender... More

Well, for those who have seen the 2007 movie Ratatouille, last night the expression on my face must have been similar to that of the movie's food critic Anton Ego after tasting the ratatouille made by Remy. The flavors in the food and how they all married together were sublime.... Went to the Bouillon Bilk with my wife last night... More

I've been a few times and I am never disappointed. I recommend getting a selection of their appetizers to share. Every flavour is different, every bite surprising (in a good way). The sommelier is very knowledgeable and always recommends the perfect wine.

Had an incredible meal at this Montreal hotspot. Located in what I suspect was an old electric supply shop as the old sign is still on the building you will enjoy an experience you won't forget. The subtle design is warm and inviting. The cocktail list was eclectic with my favourite drink an aviator. My partner loved the rose which... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
