outstanding!

The restaurant, the atmosphere and the food and wine are just perfect;) Pretty busy and hip restaurant, so you definitely need to book a table asap. Our waiter, she looked like a french actress, was excellent, very nice and you could see that she loves her job;)

I had been anxiously awaiting trying this restaurant after reading many reviews and write ups about it. I was NOT disappointed!! It's been a long while since I've had food that good. The ambiance is simple yet tasteful and elegant. The staff were attentive, super helpful and friendly. From the outside, it's hard to tell that such a star resto.... More

The restaurant is lovely, with lovely service. Everything we ordered was well prepared and our server suggested beautiful wines to complement our meals. We don't care for huge portions, that being said the portion sizes are too small. I ordered the halibut and I was served less than 4oz. my husband had an equally scant serving of beef short rib.... Service was good, and food was tasty. We were not very succesful with the wine pairing. Seen from outside, the first impression was bad (there is some cheap business on thr upper floor), but the decor is actually nice and cosy.

Wonderful food served and great wait staff, but the space was cramped and bland... almost like a cafeteria.

This is the second time I have eaten at Bouillon Bilk and once again, the food gave my taste buds something to think about... The crab entrée (in the true sense of the word) was incredible and matched by the main dish of pétoncles. The cheese platter was pure ecstasy with excellent wine suggestions. The service was efficient, but you... More

Tried this restaurant last night. It's funny when you drive up because above the entrance, there is an old sign for electronic equipment. The restaurant sign is in a recessed doorway. Be sure to know the address if you go. Food....we had the oysters to start. They were served with rhubarb mignonette, fresh horseradish, lemons and classic mignoette. Loved the... More

Excellent food. Some of us went twice. The scallops and halibut were amazing. If you love foie gras, it was excellent. Served it as the maison appetizer. Place is pricey, but worth it! Was about $75 Canadian per person plus tax, including a glass of wine and dessert. The presentation is truly this chefs passion. Fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend.

Beautifully served, our meals were delicious. Our table ordered the soft shell crab and lamb as starters and the beef and rabbit. The service was excellent.

This restaurant is a study in contrasts, on the edge of China Town, tucked between commercial storefronts, with no discernable sign, the magic happens on the plate. Our party chose the sweetbreads, hamachi, and oysters for our appetizers and had to share bites as each plate was more delicious than the previous. The cocktails were interesting and showed an excellent... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
