Great Dining Experience

I went to Ryu for a business dinner and must say I was pleasantly surprised with the food specials they had. Do try the ryu club and popcorn shrimp, these dishes were recommended by our waiter and didn't disappoint. I go to Ryu often. Sometimes I go with my girlfriends as we all love to eat there for the good ambiance and its healthy food. Plus they always surprise us with fancy cocktails (with a japanese touch). I also like to go with my boyfriend. The staff is always very nice to us and we are never deceive by... More

The food was delicious. The spicy tuna with crispy rice is a must. However, the dinning experience as a whole left a lot to be desired. The food took a while to arrive. My steak arrived 30 mins after the rest of the table's mains. Everyone was already done eating and their plates cleared by the time I got my... More

I went to Ryu this evening based on the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. I sat at the bar for an early dinner and watched the chefs work. The restaurant in general, and their work area in particular, are absolutely spotless. A good sign. Everything was delicious from the tartar to begin to the bass for the... More

I absolutely love Ryu for its imaginative take on traditional japanese food. Not only have they created one of the best menus in town but their food and service is always consistent with excellence! Beautiful venue, fantastic atmosphere, great cocktail and sake selection.. Kampai!

The food here is unique. What they do with sushi is amazing. If you want traditional sushi, go someplace else. If you want a fantasy land of exploring flavours, this is the place for you. It's better than sex. I bring my jet setter friends to Ryu, and then they keep telling me there is no comparison, world wide. This... More

This place has tons of potential. It's young style and trendy atmosphere make it a gem. The one thing I didn't like was he cockiness. The staff think vey highly of themselves.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
