Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare such as mussels and fries or a pulled pork sandwich in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. Newly reopened, the tavern is already a huge hit with the downtown professional crowd. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers awaits.

Perfect spot to catch up with a friend!

Great laid back atmosphere. It was Very busy on the weeknight when we went, reservations are perhaps recommended. The choices on the menu were all very interesting, as were the cocktail options! Nice spot to try if you are downtown!

I was invited out by coworkers on a business trip to a restaurant [Taverne Square] that they had been raving about all day. Although I never get overly excited, as many restaurants end up letting you down, this was the complete opposite. The food, particularly the salmon, was one of the best meals I have had in a long time.... More

This was another great place to eat lunch. It is next to Dunn's on Metcalf street. I had the pull pork sandwich. I would say it is one of the best pull pork I have had. Plus I had a lovely bottle of red wine. Service was great and very friendly. It is a place I will return to have... More

Had dinner at restaurant Taverne in Westmount with a group of 8 (4 couples). Food was absolutely amazing. I especially enjoyed their smoked trout tartare. The entire table was just raving about their meals. The service could have been better but I think we just fell on an inexperienced waitress so I won't penalize the restaurant given that the food... Old world, 1920's-inspired bistro with a stellar cocktail menu and entirely fantastic service. Ambiance is top-notch, menu items are creative and tasty. Bartenders are highly personable, making service at the rail just as enjoyable as tableside in the restaurant. Must visit!

This would be your run-of-the-mill GOOD restaurant. And by that I mean, a rare thing. There is no going wrong with this restaurant. If you don't like it then you don't know anything about eating out in Montreal. I'll start with the food, which is nothing less than perfect. This is a bona fide 'French Restaurant' where nothing on the... More

If ambiance is important to you, this place is absolutely charming. The décor is fashioned after the 1920’s and they have done a tasteful job and replicating both the look and feel of what that experience might have been. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, the tavern was low lit and played 1920’s and 30’s jazz which helped to... More

Ambience in the evening especially is very pleasant. My husband's salmon was very good but my "Sunday roast beef special" was average. The Yorkshire pudding was only fair and the jus for dipping was spiced quite uncongrously with distinctive Chinese 5 spice powder. Roast vegetables were a mix of overly dry and overcooked vegetables and al dente ones. Nice but... More

Sort of a cross between an English pub and a French bistro. Has been serving food and drink for ages down from the Cathedral off of St. Catherine's on Metcalf. Daily specials always the same. Excellent fish and chips on Friday, duck leg confit on Thursday, etc. great pub atmosphere but with friendly "French" waiters. Food is excellent. If you... More

The location was the old Dominion Square Tavern, located centrally in downtown. The decor is the same as it was in the early 1900s, if not earlier, and whatever is newer attempts to match the historical elements. The ambiance is bistrot-style. It can be loud because it is so popular. There is a very long attractive wooden bar for eating... More
