Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare such as mussels and fries or a pulled pork sandwich in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. Newly reopened, the tavern is already a huge hit with the downtown professional crowd. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers awaits.

Celebrated a rather quiet St Patrick's day at the Taverne Dominion - montrealers I'm told hold off until parade day 22nd to celebrate. Introduced to a wonderful gin- uncle Val's. From Sonoma CA. Now, Dominion can get busy - I merely stopped by for a few drinks après dinner. Highly recommend stopping by here for dinner. From what I see,... More

Overall the ambiance and the service makes this an amazing place. The waiters were very attentive and professional and helped us with minute details (I cannot say enough about the staff). As for food though I came away disappointed. I ordered the chicken caesar salad. The salad was disappointing and the chicken dry - overall it was overpriced. However the... More

I had the duck leg confit, the "Thursday special" and it was fabulous. Interesting decor resembles a British pub from the 1920s. Service was great, and food was outstanding. It was packed at lunchtime, which made it a bit loud, but still very enjoyable. Would definitely return here.

Excellent cocktails. Superb food, perfect prep, good portions. Fish and chips special was just that, quite special. Had to make room for dessert: most divine out of the oil donuts, sticky toffee pudding. Not the cheapest dinner in town, but you are getting quality. Pleasant service too.

My wife and myself recently visited Montreal for a mini long week-end getaway. I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and based on the reviews decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all. The restaurant is located in a historic building in Montreal and has been remodeled inside. The decor is very retro and classic. They have... More

If I lived in Montreal, this would be a regular hang-out for me. The antique/vintage light fixtures and design elements give the space a warm, romantic and utterly inviting glow. You step through the doors (and off the dirty streets of downtown) into another era where everyone and everything is beautiful. Ah. I wish we'd stayed all evening. We stopped... More

We went there for Valentine's dinner. The place was packed but the food, drinks and service were excellent. Only one problem, they initially seated us by the main entrance but we had a nice table after we complained. Would return.

Great laid back atmosphere. It was Very busy on the weeknight when we went, reservations are perhaps recommended. The choices on the menu were all very interesting, as were the cocktail options! Nice spot to try if you are downtown!

I was invited out by coworkers on a business trip to a restaurant [Taverne Square] that they had been raving about all day. Although I never get overly excited, as many restaurants end up letting you down, this was the complete opposite. The food, particularly the salmon, was one of the best meals I have had in a long time.... More
