Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare such as mussels and fries or a pulled pork sandwich in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. Newly reopened, the tavern is already a huge hit with the downtown professional crowd. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers awaits.

Great meal, great service

Great meal, great service. Our concierge recommended this place for dinner and we were happy with the menu, the food itself and overall experience. We shared fish croquettes and corn fritters. How can things deep friend be bad (other than bad for you). I had one of the steak entrees - simple but... read more

The service was fast and the meal was very good however a little on the pricey side. We went around 630pm. The place was packed and very loud. Was hard to have a conversation with just the two of us.

The food was very good, the atmosphere trendy, and service attentive. Compared to similar alternatives in Montreal it was overpriced. If the bill had been 25% less It could be a favourite.

In Montreal for a few days vacation and Taverne Square Dominion was recommended by our airbnb host. We made reservations to ensure we got a table due to the reviews stating the place was packed. It was quiet when we arrived but many tables were reserved and it began to fill up before we left. We had a lovely early... More

Great food if slightly limited menu - beer on tap was good. Service was very good and server was knowledgable and friendly - not too loud which is rare these days - can recommend a spot that isn't a tourist trap

Great weather meant the terrace (also because kids cannot go inside after a certain time.. so be it). Super service. Party of 7 were all happy. Good food like mussels, bone marrow (an acquired taste but very yummy indeed), corn fritters. Perfect recommendation for wine. A overall very nice place. Book !

Visited this restaurant for a business lunch of 3 and the food most definitely didn't disappoint. The cold soup (Turnip and Kale) is indescribably good! The soft drinks (soda) is HOMEMADE, I had the gingerale it was fantastic. The servings were the perfect size leaving you satisfied. The location is prime just steps from the great shopping and downtown Montreal.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
