Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare such as mussels and fries or a pulled pork sandwich in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. Newly reopened, the tavern is already a huge hit with the downtown professional crowd. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers awaits.

This would be your run-of-the-mill GOOD restaurant. And by that I mean, a rare thing. There is no going wrong with this restaurant. If you don't like it then you don't know anything about eating out in Montreal. I'll start with the food, which is nothing less than perfect. This is a bona fide 'French Restaurant' where nothing on the... More

If ambiance is important to you, this place is absolutely charming. The décor is fashioned after the 1920’s and they have done a tasteful job and replicating both the look and feel of what that experience might have been. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, the tavern was low lit and played 1920’s and 30’s jazz which helped to... More

Ambience in the evening especially is very pleasant. My husband's salmon was very good but my "Sunday roast beef special" was average. The Yorkshire pudding was only fair and the jus for dipping was spiced quite uncongrously with distinctive Chinese 5 spice powder. Roast vegetables were a mix of overly dry and overcooked vegetables and al dente ones. Nice but... More

Sort of a cross between an English pub and a French bistro. Has been serving food and drink for ages down from the Cathedral off of St. Catherine's on Metcalf. Daily specials always the same. Excellent fish and chips on Friday, duck leg confit on Thursday, etc. great pub atmosphere but with friendly "French" waiters. Food is excellent. If you... More

The location was the old Dominion Square Tavern, located centrally in downtown. The decor is the same as it was in the early 1900s, if not earlier, and whatever is newer attempts to match the historical elements. The ambiance is bistrot-style. It can be loud because it is so popular. There is a very long attractive wooden bar for eating... More

Went for dinner with some colleagues. Surprisingly a great meal! I had Bangers and Mash and tried a Pimms Cup for the first time. Absolutely fell in love with the Pimms Cup alcohol and now always order that wherever I go. The ambience is great for after work or a night with friends. Very laid back but classy. Service was... The minute you enter this place you feel you are in a time travel to the 20's. Photos don't do justice. Nothing is pretentious, or exaggerated. The service is excellent and the food we ordered was REALLY good. Oysters, soups, salads, sandwiches, were tops. Loved it and would go back again and again to try more of their menu. Prices... More

Nice tavern. Service is really nice and pleasant. I recommend you make a reservation if you go in the evening. They always have seats at the bar but not always convenient. Food is good, not oustanding but some original meals. It's a 100$ plus for 2 people.
